Farewell Pete Way

Legendary UFO bassist and founder Pete Way has died at age 69. Pete had an accident a few months ago and never recovered. Another hero gone. The official death announcement is below.
As you can imagine, many famous musicians immediately paid their respects on social media. Folks like Scott Ian, Michael Schenker, Tom Morello and David Ellefson all weighed in.

RIP to Pete Way
No slouch was he, either, having formed Waysted and Fastway as well as stints in MSG and Ozzy and tell me showmanship wise, his “look” wasn’t a big influence on Crüe, particularly Sixx and Quiet Riot (RIP Banali), particularly DuBrow ...
Classic Story I remember reading in British Hard Rock ‘Zine, Classic Rock, a story which goes like this:
UFO had disbanded and Pete was home one day in London, having a beer and watchin’ the telly ... Out of the blue, the phone rings ... His wife answers and yells, sounding somewhat annoyed, “Peter! It’s Phil!” (UFO lead singer Phil Mogg) ... After a brief conversation with Mogg, Way announced to his wife, “Oi, Mum, I’m just poppin’ out to get me a pack of smokes!”
... And never came back, simply sending a solicitor ‘round to deliver divorce papers to his wife, never returning to the house himself. The reason? Mogg has just informed him that fateful afternoon on the phone, UFO had just landed a huge world tour and Phil wanted Way back on bass.
RIP, Pete Way ... You are and forever will be, “Rock & Roll”!!!
