Robin McAuley Releases New Music

Hear "Say Goodbye," a brand new track from Robin McAuley, below. The song is from the upcoming album Standing On The Edge due out May 7. If you guessed the album was on Frontiers... well, you would be correct! Been seeing a lot of Dokken comparisons to this online. Agree?
We were blown away by the outpouring of love for the first single from the upcoming @mcrophone solo album of the same name, "Standing On The Edge" (May 7th). Now enjoy a new single, 'Say Goodbye'. Crank it up! Pre-order/save HERE: https://t.co/6s9JL6yrQP https://t.co/JJnSTAzRSv

He is 68 years young. I sorta' wish he didn't feel like he had to trot out the 80s look so excessively. Perhaps there is a balance to be struck there. But that's just my opinion.
Frontiers, sadly, is the life-line for performers of a certain age and genre these days. It is the new version of the same ole same ole (albeit with an Italian accent and, lots of times, too much meddling and also too many attempts to craft 'super groups' that go nowhere, even if the product is decent). So it is a paycheck. And I bet people like McAuley, who never entirely hit the big stage, appreciate the source of income.
As I mentioned, I love McAuley. So I will continue to buy his music, even if I have some serious issues with the label that releases it. I also go a step further--and have done so for other bands/artists during this pandemic--and patronize their websites, buying some cool merch, some signed photos, etc. Case in point: bought two signed photos at McAuley's website (which looks like it was designed in 1991!!!). They were cheap, relatively speaking. But it was cool to get the photos, open up the mailer and see "Him, appreciate all of it!!! Robin McAuley" on the first and a different note on the second. .Small gesture, for sure. But showing appreciation for his years of music is what counts for me.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday.
BTW I checked out American Angel that Eddie mentioned last week. Funny the amount of decent bands that we don’t know of that had a discography. They’re still around which is wild. Dig the dedication.
