This is a very cool project: musicians helping the residents of quake and tsunami-ravaged Japan. Bon Jovi is on the album, as is Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum, John Lennon and Norah Jones meaning just about every major genre of music is represented here. Proceeds from "Songs for Japan" will be directed to the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) to support its disaster relief efforts. The society will use the funds for the ongoing provision of immediate relief and for eventual recovery support to the affected population. The artists participating on "Songs for Japan," the music labels and music publishers have waived their royalties and proceeds from the worldwide sales of the album to ensure that the JRCS receives as much support as possible from this global initiative. iTunes will also donate its proceeds from the album's worldwide sales to the benefit of the JRCS, and has prominently featured the project throughout its stores worldwide.

Vince Neil Hosts 15th Annual Skylar Neil Memorial Golf Tournament

SIMI VALLEY, CA - March 21, 2011 - Mötley Crüe front man Vince Neil will host the 15th Annual Skylar Neil Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 7th at the Pete Dye and Fred Couples designed Lost Canyons Golf Club in Simi Valley, California. All of the proceeds from the event will again benefit Neil’s Skylar Neil Foundation, created in memory of his young daughter Skylar, who succumbed to a long battle with cancer in 1995. Is RATT Playing a Show in July?

Yesterday, one of my readers sent me a message, mentioning some "static" about a RATT show this summer.

This doesn't make any sense because 1) RATT are on hiatus and 2) Stephen Pearcy is working on a solo record and playing dates on his own. So what gives?

The date I found is July 31, 2011 at some club called 910 Live in Phoenix, Arizona. Pearcy already has solo gigs announced on his website, but he is definitely open on July 31, so it is curious to be sure.

So, I dunno. I'm going to email a person very-in-the-know and if I find out anything, I'll post an update. I love RATT and I want the band to get along and make music together. Their live shows are always a lot of fun...but I know things have been tense for the guys, so this one leaves me baffled.

'White Trash Millionaire' - Black Stone Cherry

Oh. My. Glam.

Have you heard the new Black Stone Cherry single "White Trash Millionaire?" The song is awesome. The guitar riff is so fat and the band is dead tight. I think this will be a radio hit for the band for sure. The song will be on the upcoming album Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea.

I can't say enough how much I love this song - sure, it's more commercial than some of Black Stone Cherry's other tunes, but come on...rock with me here. Do you dig it?

Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea will hit stores on May 31st, 2011.

Daily Performance Lineups for Rock on the Range 2011 Announced

The daily performance lineups have been revealed for the Fifth Anniversary of ROCK ON THE RANGE--America’s premier destination rock festival--May 21-22 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

A limited number of ROCK ON THE RANGE Saturday and Sunday single day Stadium GA tickets will be available for only $59.50 beginning March 28 at 10:00 AM EST. In addition, as a way to honor those who serve their country, ROTR will again offer a $30 single day Stadium GA ticket to members of the military.  To qualify for the $30 ticket, concertgoers must present a photo ID with military ID to the Columbus Crew box office Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm between May 1 and 21, 2011. Two-day weekend Stadium GA festival passes (which include entrance to the Friday pre-party) start at just $99.50 plus service and transaction fees.

Tommy Lee Developing Reality TV Show

Remember when Tommy Lee had that reality TV show a few years ago where he went to college? I sort of liked that show...he played drums in the marching band. Anyway, Tommy is working on a new reality show for the Syfy Network. It will be called Culture Shock with Tommy Lee - and he'll be uncovering various rituals, symbols, and other mysteries of secret societies. It's sort of like a mystical travel show I guess.

Is it wrong that I think this might be fascinating...or at least entertaining?

Apparently Tommy is going to learn about the history of each society and then join in the ceremonies and what not.

No word yet when the show will debut, but now I have to remember to keep an eye on the Syfy Network (and that isn't something I normally do, mind you). What do you think about this? Awesome or not?

Oh and then there's this: I totally forgot about Tommy's pop phase. I went to grab a cool drum solo clip to go along with this post and found the video for "Good Times" (from the album Tommyland: The Ride) and then I remembered how...interesting... Do you remember this video? Oh man, just watch.
