Lee Pistolero Releases New Album, Preview Link Available

GYPSY LEE PISTOLERO the former singer, frontman & songwriter from Gypsy Pistolero's reveals his reinvented retro rocker persona upon release of his pledge album 17th Aug, replete with legendary Vince Ray artwork! The in-store commercial Revolver Records release will follow (on CD & vinyl too) on the 5th Nov!!!

Gypsy Lee Pistolero's new album The Good, The Mad and The Beautiful pledge album http://www.pledgemusic.com/artists/gypsyleepistolero for fans will be released on download next Friday 17th August, with the signed CD & limited 500 colored vinyl albums (Red, White & Blue) sent out September 18th.

The album artwork is revealed here, created by the legendary low brow, rockabilly legendary artist Vince Ray (The Stray Cats, Meteors, The Damned, La Rocka, Gretsch).

The album was written & conceived with Mark Westwood, his old White Trash UK bandmate & laterday, Caamora, Neo, Shadowlands, Martin Orford, Arena, cohort.

Crashdiet Release Sneak Peek of New Music

Everyone knows I love Crashdiet. They are one of my favorite bands, period. Imagine my excitement when I read the news that the band released a sneak peek of new music! The band is working on a new record, set for an early 2013 release. Crashdiet hasn't released new music since 2010, so the record is well overdue (at least for me!)

The sneak peek below is of the demo for "Anarchy." You have to wait forever to get to the meat of the song, but it is worth it!

Too Cool for School: Aerosmith with Johnny Depp

The other night, Aerosmith performed at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Calif. At the end of the show, actor and musician Johnny Depp joined the band on stage for "Train Kept A 'Rollin." If only I was there! This is a very cool clip. I hope you enjoy.

KIX Announce New Label Deal, Live CD/DVD; Plan New Music

The title says it all kids. KIX are back with a new live album and DVD package. Here are the details. Also, pay attention to the paragraph below that I highlighted for emphasis. Now, rejoice.

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the signing of US Hard Rockers KIX to the label. The return of the Maryland rockers will materialize with the worldwide release of the band’s first ever live DVD and CD release entitled Live in Baltimore  on September 21st in Europe and September 25th in North America.

Since the band’s return to the national stage in 2008 with appearances at two of the biggest rock festivals in the US, Rocklahoma in Pryor, Oklahoma and Rock the Bayou in Houston, TX, KIX has amassed a large number of successful live shows all across the USA, with regular appearances at festivals, casinos and biker rallys, culminating with headlining the hugely successful M3 Festival in Columbia, MD two years in a row. The new live CD / DVD is packed with fan favorites and a choice catalog of great hard rock KIX songs recorded live in Baltimore, MD.

As the demand from the fans for new KIX music has never subsided and in fact has only increased over the last few years, band members have decided that they can no longer ignore the overtures from the fans and are writing new KIX songs for a new album due out on Frontiers Records in 2013.

South Texas Rock Fest 2012 Lineup Announced

I wasn't even sure if the South Texas Rock Festival was going to happen this year, but apparently all system are go. The festival will feature Queensryche, Accept, Dokken, Michael Schenker and more.

The festival will take place October 13 in San Antonio, Texas at the Sunken Garden. Tickets go on sale August 10. A general admission ticket is only $39.50 and VIP will set you back $200. If you are planning on going to this, let me know. I think the lineup is solid for a good afternoon/evening of hard rock.

Over the weekend, KIX played the Rockin' The Lake festival, a charity event presented by the Pompton Lakes Elks Lodge #1895. As always, KIX sound and look great!

This Is The Best Metal Video of the Year

I See Stars released the video for "Filth Friends Unite" yesterday. The song is on the album Digital Renegade, which I already think is the most solid metal album of the year. Now there's no doubt in my mind the band has just released the best metal video of the year as well.

I know a lot of you will freak out and say you hate the music/the band/whatever, and that is fine. If you can't listen to the song (which is great), then mute the music and watch the clip. The story is great and the cinematography is amazing. I love bands that make real music videos. These days, there isn't much incentive to do that, so I give I See Stars and their label Sumerian credit for going the extra mile. Watch.
