Joan Jett Performs New Song 'Any Weather'

Joan Jett premiered her new single “Any Weather” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this past Thursday and you can now watch the performance and listen to the song.

I have to admit I’m not really blown away by “Any Weather” in any way, but I am just so happy that Joan Jett finally is back so I don’t even care. After a few listens, the song is also starting to grow on me. Especially because it’s so classic Joan Jett. If you heard it on the radio and didn’t know who it was, it wouldn’t be too hard to take a guess. This makes me really excited about her upcoming album. And as Ally said, let’s hope the album means she’ll be going on tour again soon.

What do you guys think?

Def Leppard, 'Viva! Hysteria' Movie Trailer

Def Leppard wrapped a massively successful residency in Las Vegas a few months ago. I was lucky enough to travel west for the show and it was a blast and a half. Hysteria, as you all know, is my album, so it was sort of like a childhood dream to see the entire thing performed live. The Leps recorded the performances for what I assumed would be a DVD release. Turns out the band is doing an actual theatrical release of the concert footage and I think that is very cool! (But don't worry - a DVD is coming too!)

It looks like the theatrical event will happen October 2nd and 8th in America. Go to the band's website to search dates if you are in another country. I popped in my zip code and a theater near me has already picked up the show. The tickets are expensive - $15 - but you and I both know that I'll pony up the cash and go. Actually, I'll probably go ahead and buy my tickets in advance!

Here's the trailer below. The voiceover cracked me up and took me immediately back to the 80s. There's definite shades of "tickets available now, charge by phone" here. I half expected the announcer to even say "Ticketron." Maybe you don't know what I mean, but in Ohio in the 80s, bands would promote their tours via TV commercials and the snipe at the end was always "charge by phone or visit a Ticketron outlet." For my viewing area, the promoted shows were always at Riverfront Coliseum. Good memories.

The Song 'Moving On' Owns You

I didn't put Asking Alexandria's name in the title because I wanted you to keep reading!

British rockers (and my personal faves) Asking Alexandria released From Death to Destiny Tuesday. I've listened to the album a few times already and basically I love it. I will say the new album is very commercial, but I'm not surprised. That's been the natural evolution of the band and I don't blame them one bit.

My favorite song on From Death to Destiny is definitely "Moving On." The song has a throwback vibe and an 80s sound. The guitar work is great! There's no screaming (which I like, as you know) but the song is a melodic jewel. Give the track a chance below.

Motley Crue, 'Say Goodbye' Demo

Have you ever heard the Motley Crue "Say Goodbye" demo? The song eventually became "Enslaved" with Vince Neil on vocals but it was "Say Goodbye" when John Corabi was in the band. The track was emailed to me the other day and I honestly can't say whether I've heard it before or not. I'm sure I probably ran across the track at some point or another but I have to say it isn't very memorable at it stands here. Check it out.

Sammy Hagar Releases New Video!

I'm a big Sammy Hagar fan. I think he has an amazing rock voice and his live shows are always a big party. I'm pretty stoked that a new album is on deck. To promote that new album Sammy Hagar & Friends, Sammy just released the video for the single "Knockdown Dragout"

You'll notice the track features Kid Rock. I'm definitely getting this new album. Sammy Hagar & Friends is due out September 24.

Yes, 'Hysteria' Is 26 Years Old

Def Leppard released Hysteria 26 years ago yesterday. That fact just stuns me.

Hysteria is hugely important to me. I can remember playing the album during a lot of important times in my life. And "Animal" alone has gotten me through more brutally long days at work than just about any other song ever recorded.

Next to Aerosmith, Def Leppard is my favorite band. It's been that way for pushing three decades now. I can't imagine that fact ever changing.
