Vince Neil Sings Mele Kalikimaka (Seriously)

I was actually on vacation last week. I spent my time away from work on the Big Island of Hawaii. I believe everyone has a special "place" and Hawaii is that place for me. Anyway, I heard the Hawaiian Christmas song "Mele Kalikimaka" a ton of times over the past few days.

Imagine my amusement when I come across a video of Vince Neil and former American Idol contestant Jasmine Trias singing the song. Jasmine is from Hawaii, by the way. The duo did the performance together as part of a Toys for Tots benefit. Check it out.

Vanity BLVD Releases Lyric Video

If you like Glam, then you'll probably dig Vanity BLVD. The female-fronted band is from Sweden. They are gearing up to release their second album in February. In the meantime, we have a lyric video of the track "Do or Die" to tide us over.

I'm not sure what the deal is with lyric videos these days. I guess they are cheap and easy to produce and therefore a good promotional trick. Either way, I hope Vanity BLVD has a good run with their next release Wicked Temptation.

Totally Awesome: Jake E. Lee Live Again

Jake E. Lee is (finally) back and performing live again with his new band the Red Dragon Cartel. The band will be releasing an album via Frontiers soon... but in the meantime they are playing some live gigs. The other night, the band did an assortment of tunes from Jake's other bands and, awesomely, the Badlands track "High Wire" made the cut!

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

Just for fun: Alice Cooper's version of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town." Just a few days left before Christmas, folks. This holiday is sneaking up on me for sure.

Def Leppard Take Over AXS TV

On Sunday, December 29, Def Leppard will take over AXS TV for a "Day of Hysteria."

The band will provide exclusive commentary (I guess this means interviews) during 12 hours of concert programming. The day will end with the broadcast premiere of Def Leppard: Viva! Hysteria at 8 p.m. ET

I have to hand it to the Leps. The band has found a way to really stretch their short Vegas residency into a year-long money maker. No easy feat, so good for them. I'll be watching their AXS takeover for sure.

Love/Hate Announce New Album

This one took me by surprise. Love/Hate will release a new mini album soon. The six track album will be called Crucified and after its release, the band will go on a UK tour.

Jizzy Pearl is still the lead singer of Love/Hate and he's also singing lead in Quiet Riot right now. You can buy the new Love/Hate single "Hanging You Out to Dry" on iTunes already. Here's all the track names:

Hanging You Out To Dry
Sunny Day
You're Making Me Nervous
I Don't Want To Be Your Baby
Love Is All
Too Late

Instead of buying the single now, I'll probably wait until the entire album is out. What do you think? Will you pick this one up?

Pop Evil Ready Surprise For Fans

A modern band I really like is Pop  Evil. The guys are great and really like to have fun with their fans. I'm not surprised then, that the band is planning a surprise for fans later this month.

Michigan rock powerhouse, POP EVIL have debuted a remix version of their #1 Active Rock single "Trenches," remixed by legendary hip-hop pioneer Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels.
"It’s an honor getting to work with Rap Icon Darryl 'D.M.C.' McDaniels of RUN DMC on our Remix of #1 Rock Single 'Trenches,' says frontman Leigh Kakaty.  "Collaborating with D.M.C. has brought the song to a whole new level, and we are very excited to get it out there to see what the future brings."
The brand new "Trenches" remix will be included on a super deluxe version of "Onyx," which will be released on Tuesday, December 17th. Pre-orders are available nowPOP EVIL would like to let fans know that a special surprise will also be debuted on the same day.
The band is out on the road right now supporting their latest single "Deal With The Devil," which is currently sitting at #2 on the Active rock charts with supporting acts YOUNG GUNS, GIRL ON FIRE and ERA 9. The band recently announced that they will be direct support for none other than STONE SOUR early in 2014.
