Aerosmith Adds Dates To Las Vegas Residency

I figured this would happen. Aerosmith has added 17 dates to their Las Vegas residency. The band will go back to Vegas in the fall. There are a handful of dates in September, October, November and a couple in December. Tickets for the new dates go on sale February 15. The last batch of tickets (when I bought) sold crazy fast. If you are interested in seeing Aerosmith at this residency, you should buy when they go on sale.

KISS Performs Club Show

Ok this is cool: KISS played an intimate show at the Whisky A Go-Go on Monday night. The event was for Sirius XM subscribers.

Here's the setlist. Can you imagine being in this room? Oh and I finally broke down and got medicine. I don't take many pills but sometimes you just need the help of antibiotics. Now if I could just breathe and sleep through the night!

01. Deuce
02. Shout It Out Loud
03. Say Yeah
04. Heaven's on Fire
05. Cold Gin
06. Lick It Up
07. War Machine
08. Love Gun
09. Let Me Go, Rock 'N' Roll

Gret Van Fleet Wins Grammy

The album From The Fires is now a Grammy winner for Greta Van Fleet. The band won the award last night. I didn't watch much of the Grammy ceremony myself. I'm still sick so I was asleep for most of the show. I did see Alicia Keys play two pianos at once, which was cool. And Diana Ross struggle in a giant red dress. I don't remember anything else.

A New Revenge... Is Good?!?

Today's post is from our friend HIM.

Listen to this:

Am I wrong to be cautiously optimistic? Probably. This could end up being yet another one of those cookie-cutter, here today and gone tomorrow, ‘supergroups’ that never tour, and never release another album. That pattern was perfected (if that is the right word) by Frontier Records: plug-and-play bands that always disband.

This is also a scuffed group of major/minor players: Tim “Ripper” Owens (“Cathedral Spires” is a brief moment of absolute glory during his stay in Priest), bassist Rudy Sarzo (who has played on every B-list metal album ever produced, and a few A-list ones as well), Keri Kelli (no slouch and a guy whose real last name is Fear . . . that’s metal!), and drummer James Kottak (stay for Kingdom Come, leave for drunken antics at an airport that end up with him leaving the Scorpions). This is also a variation on Project Rock (goodbye, Zig-Zag).

But Timothy sounds great here and isn’t wearing that dumb cap. The rest of the band is in good form as well (even if Sarzo was busy forming another group and they had to get Jake E. Lee’s nemesis Soussan to fill in for the video). The sound is modern, but not annoyingly so. The song is simple, but not without some cool moments. The video is what you would expect nowadays.

Even the label, Golden Robot Records, has a bit of cache for those of us who love old school rock and metal. Their roster includes John Sykes, Bach, and freaking Rose Tattoo, as well as King’s X and The Lazys (you know I love that band). Well, it also includes Mi-Sex (?), Fyre Byrd (?!), and Groom Epoch (?!?!). But it doesn’t seem like the Frontier Factory that has made a great AOR band like Hardline sound lame and limp. So there’s that.

I am, as I stated, cautiously optimistic. I like it when older players make newer sounding songs that don’t suck. I will wait and see if the album lives up to the promise. One thing, though, guys: your album cover for Enemies & Lovers looks like a V.C. Andrews knock-off that I would buy at a discount bookstore. It ain’t that hard to make a catchy cover. Those Aussies at Golden can surely fork over a bit more scratch.

Tesla Release New Song 'Taste Like'

I'm knocked down with day three of an awful sore throat/ear ache thing. Hopefully it goes away soon. I plan on spending the day in bed, that's for sure.

On the glam front, Tesla has a new song called "Taste Like" featured on the upcoming album Shock. That new album is due out March 8. "Taste Like" sounds like classic Tesla with a Def Leppard twist to me! That makes sense because Phil Collen produced this record.

Details About Motley Crue's New Music

Blabbermouth has some tidbits on one of Motley Crue's new songs. Machine Gun Kelly will appear in one of the tracks. The new music will be part of The Dirt soundtrack, due out March 22 via Netflix.

I hope you enjoy your Friday. I woke up with body aches a sore throat and ear ache. So I hope this work day goes fast for me.
