Tom Keifer Hospitalized, Not on Monsters of Rock Cruise

The Monsters of Rock Cruise pulled out of port yesterday without Cinderella frontman Tom Keifer. Our own Metalboy! is on the boat and he texted me this from the boat:

"Keifer is not on the boat! He's been hospitalized! They will do a supergroup hybrid of Lost Angels with Corabi and Faster Pussycat! All the other members on board."

Eddie Trunk also tweeted this:

Cinderella was set to headline the cruise, alongside Tesla.

Skid Row Preps New Record

Johnny Solinger, singer of Skid Row, tweeted this yesterday:

I'm honestly excited about this album. Skid Row is - and always has been - one of my bands, if you know what I mean. And I really love seeing them live, too. The new album is already up on Amazon for pre-order and less than seven bucks. While the album is only going to have five tracks, I'll take what I can get. Discuss.

Get To Know Australian Band Sunset Riot

Sunset Riot just released a video for their song “Trash Vs. Class.” The song is from the band’s debut EP. This new band is definitely influenced by 80s sleaze. I think you will like them a lot!

The band will play Rocklahoma this May.

We Should Talk About Circus of Power

Circus of Power were not a Glam band. They were, however, dive-bar sleaze and that's good enough for me!

The New York band formed in 1986... and was immediately lumped in with "hair" bands. The band released five albums and called it quits in 1995. The band has a fairly active website and reunited for a gig back in 2009.

You can order the re-release of the Circus of Power self-titled debut via Rock Candy Records.

Here's one of my fave Circus of Power tunes. Discuss.

FedEx Nails A Metal Commercial

FedEx recently created an amazing ad featuring a fictional Metal band. I enjoyed the ad so much, I watched it three times in a row, laughing each time. There's a lot to be said for humor in advertising.

Rock Car

Yesterday, on my way to work, I saw the coolest car ever. It was a purple PT Cruiser with the Aerosmith logo on the back window. Upon further inspection (I was right behind the car at this point) the license plate also said Aerosmit 1.

I followed the car down the road a little, until it turned off into an apartment complex. I contemplated pulling in beside the car, obviously curious about the owner. I mean, I'll talk about Aerosmith to anyone, anywhere. I figured I better not just approach a stranger. I mean, stalkerish, right? Plus I was already running late for work.

It's pretty rare for me to see band stickers on cars and trucks around here. I mean, once in a blue moon, I'll see a Pantera sticker, but that's about it. How about you? Ever see band stickers on cars? Do you have a band-related license plate?

Get Well, Vince!

Vince Neil is on the mend today. Vince got sick with kidney stones during Sunday night's Motley Crue show in Sydney, Australia. The show was shortened when Vince was rushed to the hospital.

When Vince got to the hospital, he was admitted for surgery. Nikki Sixx tweeted about the whole ordeal and mentioned that Vince is now doing fine and recovering. Before the show, Nikki noted that Vince was doubled over in pain, but the singer didn't want to cancel.

After his surgery, Vince took to his own Twitter account to post these tweets:

Motley is scheduled to play Brisbane on Tuesday.
