Remembering Eric Carr; Freddie Mercury

November 24, 1991 was a hard day in the music world.

It seems unbelievable, but drummer Eric Carr has been gone 33 years as of today. Same for singer Freddie Mercury. Both KISS and Queen posted remembrances for their lost members. Two of the greats for sure.

Brian May Recovering From Small Stroke

Well, this is upsetting. Queen guitarist Brian May announced earlier today that he is recovering from a "small" stroke. He wasn't able to use his left arm after the incident last week but apparently things are better for him now.

“The good news is that I can play guitar,” May says in the video below. He called the stroke a "health hiccup" and notes that he is resting now. He isn't allowed to drive or fly or do anything strenuous. I wish him a full recovery!

Have You Heard Dolly Parton Cover Queen Yet?

Dolly Parton will release Rockstar in November. It is the country mogul's first foray into the rock space. On that album is the Queen cover of "We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions." The song will be used for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The video is cheesy and kind of fun and definitely positive.

I am forever jealous of Dolly's use of rhinestones everywhere!

Brian May Releases New Star Fleet Project Video

To celebrate the re-release of his Star Fleet Project, guitarist Brian May is pushing out some new and old video clips of the band at work.

The re-release is a 40th anniversary celebration of Brian May's solo side project. When May went out to recruit musicians for his Star Fleet Project, he probably didn't quite know what to expect - or have any idea of what the all-star group would produce. Of course, the biggest get was Eddie Van Halen.

The special reissue features lots of musical outtakes and behind-the-scenes conversations between the musicians. For Queen fanatics - or just guitar nuts in general - getting this reissue on vinyl seems like a no-brainer.

Queen + Adam Lambert Adds New Shows To Tour

Fan demand means Queen + Adam Lambert have added 8 more shows to their upcoming North American tour. Still... none of the routing works for me. The shows are all basically in huge markets (New York, Los Angeles, etc.) and nothing really through the midwest, save Chicago. Alas, I hope this information helps someone out there in Glam land. Tickets on sale now.

Queen + Adam Lambert Announce North American Tour

One of the acts I still really want to see live is Queen + Adam Lambert.

This morning, the group announced live dates for North America. It's a short routing for October and November.  Unfortunately for me, I don't see how I can possibly get to any of the shows. I will be in Greece during a lot of the dates and then there's the NFL football season to work around, too (season ticket holder). I remain hopeful I can make one of the dates work. Yes, these are true first world problems.

Do you plan to attend this tour?
