This Really Happened - And They Are Not Twins!

He really looks like Bret Michaels and got to meet our Glam hero last Thursday night. Bret Michaels (the real one) was in Michigan for a stop on his summer Parti-Gras tour. During the VIP meet and greet session, superfan Chris Stiles finally got to meet Bret. Apparently Stiles has been trying to met Bret for four years, but every VIP event Stiles has purchased was canceled... until last week.

Talk about attention to detail! Stiles got replica fake tattoos to match Bret's real ones to make the photo below more realistic. Stiles also hit the gym hard and visited tanning beds to keep his body like Bret's too... just for that magic meeting and photo moment. Now that the meeting happened, Stiles says he's done keeping up appearances - literally! Talking to MLive, Stiles explains:

“Truly, my end goal was to meet Bret Michaels dressed like him. It took me four years to do this and I don’t have any future plans of dressing like him. It’s very difficult to keep up the body at 58. You’ve got to work out a lot and tan. It’s a lot of work. I’ve kind of reached the peak of the mountain, so to speak, in meeting him.”

'Back In The Day' - New Bret Michaels Single

Bret Michaels of Poison has been teasing a new song for about a month now and today it is here! The track is called "Back In The Day" and it's a party-driven love letter to our beloved Glam heyday. Bret is doing a ton of press for this song, so say what you will about him, but he does work to keep up the mantel of party music.

There's also a Facebook live event with Bret tonight, if that is your sort of thing:

Bret Michaels To Release New Music January 18

Bret Michaels will release a new song called "Back In The Day" on January 18. He will also do a Facebook live that day to promote the track and video. Fans will have a chance to ask Bret real time questions during that live event as well. More details are promised on the Facebook live.

I sort of want to go to this Parti Gras stop. My luck there will be a blizzard in southern Ohio that day or something.

Bret Michaels Celebrates 'Monday Night Football'

Watching pre-game coverage of Monday Night Football, who did I see but Bret Michaels and actor Brian Baumgartner (The Office) hype up the Packers before their game against the L.A. Rams. Even Packers QB Aaron Rodgers made a little appearance in the video. Apparently, he's a huge Office fan.

Bret Michaels Announces 'Parti-Gras 2023' Tour

Of course it's called "Parti-Gras!" Bret Michaels will head out on a short tour this summer. Night Ranger and Jefferson Starship will provide support as will Mark McGrath and Steve Augeri.

The 12-date run starts in Detroit in July. The full tour routing will apparently be announced during Bret's Facebook Live on December 6 (see below). This is a Live Nation event.

Have You Entered The Latest Bret Michaels Contest Yet?

This is a thing.

Bret Michaels is hosting a contest where you dress your pet up like him... and submit the photos. Think red bandanas for sure. Maybe hair extensions? Probably jeans. It is National Pet Month and this is how Bret and his PR team are celebrating. The prize is nice - $500 for you and your pet and $500 donated to your favorite animal charity. The contest closes August 20, so get to snapping those photos! Contest rules and more information.

Monday After Vacation

It's Monday after vacation for me and I have to admit, I feel completely out of whack. My work inbox is nuts and I don't have any idea what is going on with the music world or much news in general, really. Eric and I had a great cruise. I highly recommend Virgin Voyages if cruising is your thing. The line is all adults - and everything from the food, to the entertainment to the shopping is geared toward mature folks who like to have fun. Music plays everywhere - nonstop - on Virgin which makes sense because Richard Branson started his Virgin empire with a record label.

I did see where Bret Michaels will be inducted into the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame. I had never heard of the institution before, but good for him. He will accept the individual honor personally in the fall and do a concert, too.

Meanwhile, I missed my own black (tuxie) metal kitty so much while on vacation. I really think my Roosevelt would make a great mascot for an emerging metal band.
