Dilana Out of LA Guns

The Tracii Guns + Dilana partnership lasted just over two months. It's amazing to me, but it seems Dilana is out as singer of LA Guns. She posted on her Facebook that the rest of the LA Guns tour was canceled... then Tracii started posting about saving the dates and then later he mentioned having Tony West of Blacklist Union singing for the band.
It sort of sounds all financial - maybe times were too rough and it just didn't make financial sense for Dilana to stay on the road with the band. Then again, Dilana also posted on her Facebook that the tour was pretty messed up (she used harsher words) and she has notes about it all.
Whatever the case, Tracii is adamant about going on with his version of the band and continuing the current tour. I guess we'll have to wait and watch for details.

Sorry Traci, you lose.
First off, whatever you think of Guns, he's one of the greatest, most talented and gifted guitarists from the 80's L.A. Scene. In fact, I dare say, he's way more talented than our beloved Slash, who, let's be honest, has a fairly Generock sound by comparison.
Call me crazy, and I'm sure you will, I actually think Guns is the Jeff Beck of Glam Metal. I saw the original L.A. GUNS 5 times
and HE was the reason I was point blank standing right in front of the stage. And where was I standing? Right in front of him, of course.
As much as I love Phil's version, it's Guns whose name is on the door, so he's entitled to the name as much as anyone. I just wish both of these idiots would bury the hatchet and reform, though, I guess cuz Guns is such a jack*ss coupled with the fact that it's
not financially sustainable to put the original band back together as they probably make more individually with the current "arrangement".
As far as Dilana goes, that was a total display of lack of judgement on Guns part to ever hire her in the first place. Perhaps West will more than foot the bill even tho he ain't Phil.
Of course, there is a way Guns could trump Phil. Put out an L.A. GUNS album better than any of Phil's or better yet, put one out even better than their old sh*t!
p.s. Kenny! Love ya but watch the "T" word, please, bro. Rock On!
Nowadays, as sammy hagar has basically confirmed, he had a similar experience as roth while he was in VH and several musicians (most particularly Vai and Sheehan) have completely back-tracked on their rants against roth- who, BTW stayed true. Vai recently stated that he created some of his best music with roth and this partnership was the most beneficial to his career. He boldly claims that EEAS is, by far, the best glam album of the 80's.
So let's allow the Stevie Rachelle's and the MWM's of the world jump on a popular bandwagon and 'prove' their positions by pointing out all the "disgruntled" musicians in Traci's LA Guns; which by last count is at 40. I do not purport to be an expert or an Insider in the LA Guns camp, but in the world of VH, hindsight is 20/20 and it was (is) David Lee Roth who stayed the course and history is now very much kinder to and about him as are many of his former co-workers and confidants.
Let's also use Motley Crüe and Sixx A.M. as an example. How is it okay for Sixx to go off and do Sixx A.M. but not okay for Tracii to go off and do Brides of Destruction?
And if Roth can rejoin Van Halen, I would think Tracii and Phil could get back together. But I don't think there's enuff bux in it, unfortunately, as the brand, L.A. GUNS, has become the equivalent of two former heavyweight boxers winding up in the WFF. Both look like clowns.
Imagine if Tracii, Phil and the rest of the original line-up had always delivered stuff on par with their first couple of albums. They would still be rolling along and maybe, just maybe, they would have wound up a poor man's Crüe. That would have been enough to allow them to sock away at least a couple of mil a piece AND kept their brand relevant. Instead, we gotta listen to two bastard child versions, BOTH of which are lame, in terms of any quality of new output.
Sorry, Mewize, even if what he does with it sucks, Guns deserves to do what ever the hell he wants with the name, as it's his just as much as it is Phil's, perhaps more so, as, like I said before, his name is literally in the band name, which was an intentional nod to his leadership and towering talent!
