King Kobra, 'Turn Up the Good Times'

The new King Kobra record is a rocker! The self-titled record is available now via Frontiers. I talked with singer Paul Shortino awhile back for Noisecreep. He told me the band hopes to jump on a tour soon - maybe in the fall? At any rate, I'd like to see the band live and hear some of the new tunes as well as the old stuff.

Here's "Turn Up the Good Times." Doesn't guitarist David Henzerling look cool?

Everybody, party hearty? Really? Wow... Which one of their pre-pubescent kids wrote the lyrics?

I liked the first two KK albums..this one is weak..also I would like to let as many people know what a scumbag Carmine Appice is (and I dont give a f%*k what he does for kids),,,Five years ago I custom painted 3 drumheads for Carmine w his logo,,he talked to me via Facebook about what he wanted,colors,designs,ect..I pained the heads and sent them back to his lawyer in Bevery Hills..I never ever heard from him again,,no payment (all I asked was an autograph pic,by him,aof him with the heads on a kit,,thats ALL!,,no money)..I emailed him about 10 times,,MYspace messages,,,NOTHING,,He ignored all. I wroth to him on Facebook,,calling him a "SCUMBAG"..well that got his attention!,,Now he claims he 'remembers' talkin to me but has no idea whaever happened to the 3 heads I pained,,no even a THANK YOU!..SO I loved the OLD King Kobra..love David,,great player..Big Cock is a great band..NEW KK sucks just like Carmine,,,DICKHEAD!!

Where's Mick Sweda in all of this?

Ace Steele...that's what I was thinking..where the heck is Mick? He's the only reason I was interested in the new KK stuff!

It's a decent little tune but I won't be seeing them live without Sweda.

And let's not forget original singer, Mark Free! What a killer singer he was!

p.s. And no judgements about him becoming a woman, Marcie Free, who just put out a new solo record, as well. Though I haven't heard it I've heard the killer voice is still there.

p.s.s.t. I had heard Appice was a jerk, but your story takes the cake. What an a*shole! BTW, do you have a web site or samples of your work online somewhere? I would love to see the work do.

Pretty lame really, esp. the lyrics. I love 80's hair band glam whatever music, but I would not have bought this even if it was 1987(ish).

RE: M.I.A. Mick Sweda...

Seriously, Where the hell is he? Since this was obviously composited video, (meaning each band member was shot seperately,) What's the deal? Could Mr. Sweda not be bothered? Will he actually be there if/when they play live? Inquiring minds with only a mild level of interest in King Kobra, want to know.

As for Marcie Free, yeah, she's still got a hell of a singing voice. It sound exactly like she did when she was male. You go, Girlfriend. She deserves the support.

i saw king kobra open for kiss in the late 80s early 90s they were very good, there first 2 cds were very good n KK III not bad bad but hollywood trash n lost years wasnt good, the new cd is average not bad but not great n since when do lyrics have to b written as an intelectual essay most songs in the 80s and some of the best songs were simple and fun if u want thought out lyrics u can listen to bands that do that sort of thing and very few people care about thats why they dont sell as ton of cds
