James Durbin Does Skid Row Much Justice

Yahoo! Music recently interviewed James Durbin. During the interview, Durbin busted out a little of the Skid Row classics "18 and Life" and "I Remember You." The clip definitely left me wanting more - Durbin definitely did the Skids justice.

I sincerely hope James Durbin digs in his feet and stays firm to his rock roots -- and that the American Idol handlers don't force a weird pop record on him. Not so long ago, James tweeted that he wanted to make a record that sounds just like Hardcore Superstar! I hope it happens. Watch.

If anyone's got a chance to Bring Back Glam!, it's this guy!

I think they'll let him make the record he wants to make, a kind of Nu Glam Metal album, if you will.

He went over big doin' "Metal" on the show, the highlight of which was definitely his stint with Priest on stage live during the finale.

The Idol "handlers" won't mess with the formula too much, tho the end result which will be his album may end up more on the Bon Jovi side of "Metal" than the Priest side.

Still, you never know, they may choose to mix it up a little like an old 80's style Glam Metal album with a mix of Hard Rockers, Mid-Tempo stuff and the pre-requisite power ballad which I'm hoping will have the word "hit" written all over it!

He should get Nikki Sixx to write it for him, that is if Sixx still has one left in him.

Any American singer who knows about HCSS is solid in my books. I was very impressed with his chorus of I Remember You; the guy can seamlessly transfer between words at a high register without his voice breaking. Very, very impressive.

I still can't believe he got beat by Scotty! James should have been in the top 3 along with Haley and Casey.
