Blessed By A Broken Heart - Totally Bringing Back Glam!

Oh my glam! My friend Alan shot me a link to a video from Blessed By A Broken Heart. I'm not sure he actually likes them mind you. I think it was more amusement/confusion/general interest. But I love them! Wiki says they are Metalcore. I say they are Glam! Ok, maybe they are both. Oh, they are Christian metal too. But still. Guitarist Shred Sean (yeah, that's his name) can play. So recognize. This Canadian band is the real deal.

I want to interview this band. Right after I buy the entire Blessed By A Broken Heart collection.

I think he, or someone, mentioned them in a post several months back. REALLY did not like them. Did not think there was an original thought in the song or the video. Very contrived. Plus, there should be a law about musicians acting in their videos.

Seen them live - their latest CD is amazing, but I hate the rest of the discography, much like latest E.T.F.'s disc. They may be Christian metal, but most of their songs make like to no reference to religion unless you are REALLY digging for references. More about skating, partying on the beach and girls. Great stuff.

Hmmmm...

Somebody sent me this several months ago. It sounds pretty catchy. I think your right -- you may have hit on a new genre, Al:

GLAMCORE

And in the case of BLESSED, "Christian Glamcore".

I thought I was really onto something when I first got turned onto 'em, so I started lookin' at their web site and other vids, including laying patches on a motorcycle in front of a church on Sunday during mass, which made me begin to ponder the authenticity of their convictions, not only of their faith but their music.

But hey, at least it's Rock'n'Roll, even if it does get a little samey at times.

I like a few songs, but mainly the ones with no harsh screaming vocals, I cant stand that kind of vocals for the most part. The music is great though.

The last album - Feel The Power - is really awesome! I read a interview where the singer said he is getting tired of the "childish" metalcore they made until now, and now they decided to emphasize their 80s glam influence.
The album before - Pedal To The Metal - was really too harsh, I couldn't stand the vocals, but this album is good! almost no death growls...
Check out their song "Rockin' All Night" which really sounds like 80s hair metal, or the power ballad "I've Got You"
