2013 M3 Rock Festival Set Times Announced

I won’t be at M3 this year – I have a prior commitment as my husband is running in the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon. I expect lots of comments about the festival from those of you attending this weekend. And if something cool happens, you can always tweet me @bringbackglam – I will be with you in Maryland in Glam spirit!

Nope, I'm betting WASP will bring it and kick KIX's A*S for the reasons I stated before -- Burned out on "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah", STILL too "Party Metal" to beat the sheer Power of WASP, who have something to prove. I equate it to when The Jets beat The Patriots at Foxboro. It happens AND it's gonna happen Friday night.
Now if Purnell was up on stage with KIX, THAT might make a difference. But without him, it's gonna be WASP all the way!
Boo, frickin', who! Hometown, Shmometown! The question is simple. Who's more BADASS? The answer is even simpler: WASP!!! Duh!
And Share, the new Jan kicks a*s royale! She is more bada*s than half of the dude guitarists on the bill and loud as hell!
That is one of the main reasons he won't play "---- Like A Beast" anymore. Not that it is difficult to pick up his new interests if you read any recent interviews or scan the lyric sheets for his newer albums. To each his own I suppose. But I have no reason to call it "crapola" either.
His stage show (and, really, this is Blackie's band), though, has been interesting in recent years: video screen with political images (a la _The Headless Children_) and also older videos of the band while the band plays (relatively) in time with them.
Blackie is a gifted performer and lyricist when he wants to be. But he also seems like a pain to work with, a bit of a prima donna.
Show should be interesting, though Blackie will likely keep behind his tricked out mic stand while draped in a hockey jersey (no fish-nets and high heels anymore . . . and certainly no exploding cod-piece).
Honestly, I may have to hedge my bets and eat my "Official Limited Edition Slash Leather Top Hat", if he's going the route of his recent shows. KIX may indeed live up to their name and wind up kicking Blackie's A*s Royally.
Blackie, if your reading this, it might not be too late to dig out the old stage show, a la KISS. With the whole Retro thing happening AND a resurgent interest in your kind of music, why not embrace the past and revert back to the more BADASS approach you wrote the book on.
Ditch the hockey shirt and dig out the old cod piece, will ya?
p.s. if your worried about looking a little "rotund" on stage, go the Malmsteen/Sixx/Neil route and "deceptively" layer up with a leather vest, or better yet, for you -- a nice long black satin cape or if that's too devilish, a leather trench coat would work wonders. Maybe I should start a new reality show -- "Metal Makeover" and become a style guru to Aging Fat Hollywood Rock Stars".
p.s.s.t. Also, Black, why show pics of the old band? Isn't that a really just historic narcissism? I like the idea of the big screen, but you should keep the narcissism confined to 3D Reality. Maybe you don't need the cod piece, but at least crank up the BADASS factor. Just sayin. Still, if he and his boyz bring the music, all his other sh*t won't matter so much. Glad he's still got that cool Metal (literally) skeleton microphone/pulpit contraption, though. Now THAT is BADASS!!! And he should realize, this is Maryland, not the Midwest. He could really shock everyone by breaking out "Animal F*ck Like A Beast" and not only more than get away with it, but actually bring the house down! We'll see if we're in for a trick or a treat with this dude, as I also heard he is a premadonna wild CARD.
I do, begrudgingly, agree in part with MB that Kix always rules, but I've seen them so many times over the past few years, that I am really looking more forward to WASP on Friday night. Hopefully Blackie & co. will deliver the goods. I've been listening to 'The Last Command' all week in anticipation! And don't forget about Danger Danger either. Ted Poley has always had an underrated voice, and the band brings a fun party vibe to the festivities.
Can't make it to Balt. until Friday, so I will miss the pre-party. But it would be cool to meet up with my fellow BBG peeps. What time and where?? Hope to see all of you there!
And, yes, he is also notorious for cancelling shows at the drop of a hat. Last chance I had to see him, same thing. That said, as his touring has grown more selective he has been less and less a no show. Perhaps with his new outlook he is also trying to adopt a more professional attitude regarding gigs. Who knows?
Sin for Sin is always fun to watch. High energy and some cool originals. Station was very impressive. This band has it all and the place erupted with enthusiasm. Rocklahoma is in for a treat and Sam's Retrospect Stage is gonna be killer.
Diemonds was also unbelievable!! I was totally blown away by their lead singer, for I thought Sister Sin's lead is great, this girl is every bit a star , too.
