Harem Scarem Release Album Trailer

Fans of Harem Scarem will love this one: the band just released a trailer for their upcoming album Thirteen. The album will hit stores December 9 and will be released by Frontiers.

When I was playing the trailer last night, Eric said he thought the music sounded like Def Leppard. I kind of agree and I'm pleased with how good these tracks sound.

Sounds like Vintage Haren Scarem.

Nice to see them back together and creating new music again.

Not bad at all. Glad to see these guys are giving it another shot. Other than the crisp vocal harmonies, I'm not hearing the Def Leppard resemblance. If anything, the first song sounds a little like "Long Way to Love" by Britny Fox, but not in a ripoff way. What I like about their sound now is that it isn't easy to categorize. some of the riffs have a power metal feel, but then the vocals over top of them are very melodic, almost venturing into power pop territory at times. to me, it sounds like they have taken the best of the different directions they've explored over the years, and distilled it all into a very enjoyable record.

These guys live at the top of AOR Mountain, not that it's a bad thing, necessarily.

I will never forget almost losing consciousness a couple of years ago when I saw an original press of demo CD with press kit for their first album on Ebay for $1,599!!!

I mean, these guys are okay and I've got all their sh*t but it's a little disposable. I haven't listened to them in forever until now.

One thing's for sure, this new album will surely make everyone's "Best of 2014" list on heavyharmonies.com, however, I seriously doubt that will be the case on this site this year.

Regardless, thanks for posting, Al...

When all is said and done, including all of my quibbling, it's great to hear these guys still at it.
