This Will Make You Smile

Picture it: Warrant, live in Japan back in 1991. A big, screaming crowd, great moves on stage and Jani Lane in all his glory. I had a great time watching this full concert from Nakano Sun Plaza Hall in Tokyo and I bet you'll love it too. Videos like the one below remind me why I'm a Glam fan.

I know it's nothing compared to seeing them in the late 1980's or early 90's but...I was only 17 at the time & that was the best I could do!
I grew up in a horrible era of grunge & I tried my best to take advantage of my teen years!
Warrant was the highlight of that concert & Jani Lane sounded Amazing covering the Black Sabbath song "War Pigs"!
I agree...this is why I will always love glam too!!!
Some of my ultimate musical memories will always be hanging with Jani and Jerry after their 2 Toronto shows in '96 and early '97. He even played us a tape (!) of some of the material he was working on for his upcoming solo CD. That was really special.
There are only a handful of people like Jani who exist in our lifetimes. He oozed talent and everything he touched was golden.
I will always remember the look of confusion on his face when he pulled out Canadian money to pay the bartender. I had to count it out for him because he had no clue about the denominations. Then I gave the bartender crap for taking his money. She was obviously too stupid to know who he was and he didn't bother playing the fame card.
RIP Jani. You were loved. Such a shame to have lost someone so special, so young.
And sorry to say but Warrant is nothing without Jani. They shouldn't even be allowed to play his songs.
This was a bartender in the VIP area of the club where Warrant just performed, along with Slaughter and Vince Neil. You'd think they'd pay for a drink for the guy.
She talks a lot about Jani Lane.
It's really the closest thing you can get to a book about Jani Lane.
I sadly doubt anybody else will bother making a book about him.
I was happy to see one of his best non-album tunes is on this, at around the 11 minute mark. "Thin Disguise" is such a great, simplistic song, whose lyrics say so much. R.I.P. my friend.
Anyway, nice post, al. Nice comments all. Be well.
