Enuff Z'nuff Releases New Video

Happy Thanksgiving!

So Enuff Z'nuff (which is really just Chip Z'nuff these days I think) just put out a video for "The Stroke." The song is a cover of the Billy Squier hit and is from the new EZN album Covered in Gold. I like the cover but I don't care for the video. The girls in the background were too distracting to me.

This ought to do for EnuffZ'Nuff's career what "Rock Me Tonight" did for Billy Squier's. Kill it overnight.

Spot on ace! That is if they have a career to kill.

Enuff does nothing for a classic song. Billy and the original just sound better

Happy Thanksgiving to all my extended family here. I haven't been around much as I've been slamming 70 plus hour weeks at work since September, but I still check in whenever possible to catch up. And as usual I see that Ace pretty much nailed it with his opening salvo on this vid... Lol

Can't watch that whole video. It's making me dizzy.

Billy Squire had some really great songs. What a shame one bad video ruined his career. He probably kicks himself every single day.

I was expecting to hate this and actually find myself liking it. Squires version is great but this one isn't bad at all, squire also does the worst version of the stroke also. He did a stripped down version of it and absolutely ruined the song.

This is terrible. Let's just rip off Guns N Roses Garden of Eden and Robert Palmer Simply Irresistible.

I can't see the video, but I do own this album. It's actually not bad. "the Stroke" is one of the weaker cover versions on the album. Before you just write this off entirely, check out the version of "Tears of a Clown" or "Believe It Or not, (theme From greatest American Hero" from the album. both of those covers are amazingly well done.

Happy thanksgiving all!!! I was never an Enuff Znuff fan. I did see em two years ago though... I ought to say it was a very disappointing live show, the worst I've seen. The local bands blew em off the stage. I was one of twelve people there literally. Half if em security let in free cos everyone left. Anyways again Happy Thanksgiving!! I'm thankful for better live bands.

A belated Happy METAL Thanksgiving to all...

IMHO, this is far superior than the original, instrumentally. Imagine, these much harder guitars coupled with Squier's stronger vocal chops.

What Squier's suffered from, more than anything, was mishandled packaging. The music and arrangements were Hard Rock Lite with tinny guiars and whimpy drums.

Squier was, and probably still is, a much better vocalist than "The Chip", as Taime Downe addresses him. That said, I like Z'Nuff. Nice guy... Approachable... Doesn't put on airs. And, despite the contrary voiced by some of you, Enuff Z'Nuff's a great band, especially at their height on that first album.

There's no denying the Pop Metal grandeur of "Fly High Michelle" and, even more so, the groundbreaking "New Thing", the definitive example of combining 70's Power Pop sensibilities with the iconic pulled string immediacy of unsung virtuoso Derek Frigo's 80's Style majestic Dokkenesque guitars.

You gotta hand it to 'em, the unexpected "Cheap Trick meets Dokkenesque" approach with fresh imaginative songwriting, courtesy Donnie Vie, made for a potent moment in musical history.

I saw 'em live point blank in '89 at The Cat Club in NYC and the performance was awe inspiring. The whole joint screamed for an encore and they came back with a stunning version of The Beatles' "Dear Prudence".

And Bob's right... Their rendition of "Tears Of A Clown" totally ROCKS!

(RIP Frigo and prayers for Vie's return)

Love the band, have all the albums, but isn't the new one just a bunch of previously released covers? At least most of 'em are. Or did they at least re-record them w the latest line-up?
