'Tijuana Jail' -- New Version

Gilby Clarke just recorded a new version of "Tijuana Jail" and he made a new video too. The weather is getting warmer, seems like a great time to revist the tune!

The man has always known how to record great tones.
He didn't own the other recorded version. Virgin did.
By re-recording it, he can now monetize this recording by placing it in commercials, digital stores, film soundtracks, etc.
It's the very same reason Def Leppard, KISS, Foreigner, Journey, Scorpions & a host of other bands re-record their material. Their former labels retained the rights to the recordings, but if their out of print, it doesn't do the artist any good. This way, artists (who own the actual songs, just not the original recordings) are able to actually make a living off their art, instead of further funding a label that has long since discarded them.
Though I understand all the reasons they want to do it, unfortunately, the re-recordings NEVER touch the originals.
Hats off to Clarke for at least trying something different by offering more in his updated version with new parts, as Jack points out.
