Fave Alice Cooper: Number 1

Happy Halloween! My favorite holiday of them all deserves my favorite Alice Cooper video of them all! The top spot goes to "I'm Eighteen." Surprised?

STILL I'll take the original Alice Cooper Band that wrote & performed these classics. Any day...

Even recently... like in a book store.

Nice, Ace... Let's not forget their induction into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This is where that esteemed organization gets it right. If everyone shows up, it works!

As for the R&R Hall of Fame.... Took 'em long enough.
But, it did set in motion a reunion of the band of a handful of mini gigs. One of which was the Revolver Awards Show... which I got to see... Another thing to scratch off the bucket list... seeing the original band. :)

Without Alice, there is no Kiss,Rob Zombie,Slayer,Ghost, and the 4.3 million Scandanavian " We eat breakfast with Satan" metal bands. The guy inspired an entire genre of music. I'd call that iconic. And IMO,other than maybe a 1966 GTO Judge,Coop's the coolest thing to ever come out of Detroit. \m/

Hahaha!!!, Gary! "We eat breakfast with Satan"!

One of those bands should really name their next album that! Priceless!

One of my favorite 80's bands who's covered more than one Alice tune is Lizzy Borden. Easily, one of my Top 20 Heavy Metal bands.

I would put I'm Eighteen, Feed My Frankenstein, as my top two favorite Alice songs. It is really hard though, he has a ton of great material. It's hard to pick the number three spot though, maybe Wasted In America, Hey Stoopid, Ballad Of Dwight Fry, Under My Wheels....damn it is really hard to choose.

Agreed, without Alice there wouldn't be a million of these bands out there looking and sounding like they do, maybe it would still be there in a different style, but everyone from Dee Snider to Wednesday 13 to Black Veil Brides to Motley Crue and all these "hardcore satanic we only record in a concrete room through a Spongebob microphone with facepaint to go along with it bands" have listed him as influence.
I don't care what Gene says, Alice did it before them, and although KISS went all out, Alice did it better and a lot cooler. That is why he is the rock n roll legend.

Hear, hear, DJ!

And aside from Allyson's other picks, don't forget "Billion Dollar Babies", "School's Out" and "Hello Hooray".

This is the only video for this song that matters...

I've got nothing against Alice's late 80's/early 90's hair metal phase, but the band in the clip Ally posted (while talented) are so "safe" compared to the original band...the band who scared millions of parents worldwide!
