Get Well Rikki!

As you've probably seen by now, Poison drummer Rikki Rockett has oral cancer. Rikki is 54 and announced the diagnosis on satellite radio earlier this week. It turns out he has a tumor on his tongue.

Rikki has undergone nine sessions of chemotherapy and 35 sessions of radiation. He'll get a PET scan in February to determine if he's cancer free or not.

Cancer doesn't discriminate.Rich, poor, famous,or anonymous,it sucks. I've watched it take too many of my family and friends. Here's hoping everything turns out ok for Rikki.

I agree with Gary. Cancer is horrible. Hope Mr. Rockett gets better; sounds like he is beating it. Sucks when your favorite bands start getting older and having health problems.
I hope everyone that regularly reads BBG is doing well and has a Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year.

I forgot, Poison has always been one of my favorite bands. Got to see them with Def Leppard a couple summers ago from the third row (POINT BLANK!) in St. Louis. Every single member of the band made eye contact with my wife and me and the people around us and made us feel awesome. At one point when I was trying to snap a photo, CC paused, smiled and hammed it up for the camera. Rikki saw I was taking a pic and did the point the drumstick thing. Bret and Bobby hung out for a few extra seconds so I could get a shot. One of the best concerts I have gotten to see.
That is why I think going to see them in Vegas would be worth it.

Praying for Rikki... Need all our boyz in the classic line-up still up there and POINT BLANK!

Hope Rikki beats this (I just know he will) so we might get to see them at M3 in April or somewhere soon!

God Bless & Godspeed, Rikki! May The Metal Gods look down upon you're Rock & Roll Soul and keep you with us!

I hope the Feb. test results turn up spotless. Never a big fan. But I appreciate his interviews and the fact that he sticks up for the band that he clearly loves.

Recent news suggests that Bret is thawing to the idea of a "few" shows or maybe a tour. That would be great for this band and their fans.

I wish him well.

HIM... Give their first album, "Look What The Cat Dragged In", another spin, as that singular disc of pure Rock & Roll bedlam is the very reason I place them in the #4 position of The Big 4 of Glam Metal behind only Crüe, RATT and Cinderella. It's a perfect record!

I certainly get the appeal, Metalboy! And I don't change Hair Nation or Metal Mania when they come on. I even have more of an appreciation of them (like Stryper and others) than I did back in the day. It's just that they never cracked my Top Ten.

Like I said, though, I just hope he gets a clean bill of health . . . and a chance to tour with the band he so clearly treats with respect and love.
