Steel Panther Announce Live Album

Our favorite glam metal parody act Steel Panther will release a live album in February... and it will be acoustic. There will be a DVD as well. I don't know how I feel about the album being unplugged, but I'll give it a listen and a shot. No word on the album title because the band didn't wan't to reveal it yet. I'm sure it's raunchy. So, are you excited for this live unplugged release?

I absolutely hate unplugged albums. If the song was an acoustic recording g when it came out thats fine I'm good with it but when a great rock song is strippes down to the basics it just loses all its energy and punch and becomes boring.

Whatever I think of these guys, I actually think it's a smart move. Many people find Steel Panther's brand of Backstage Bathroom / Locker Room Humor quite funny as most on here will attest.

By serving it up "Unplugged", they will most likely reach a wider audience. The album actually might wind up being a modest hit, as more people will be able to handle the acoustic guitars better rather than dealing with their usual tongue-in-cheek 80's guitar screech getting in the way, allowing more focus on the words.

And the words are, as we know, what matter. Especially with Steel Panther.

I kid. But the line "by serving it up 'Unplugged'" made me laugh. It is a perfect lead-in to a Steel Panther album.

Isn't this what a lot of the GLAM bands did ? Love it !!! When in doubt go unplugged for one or release a Double Live Album.
