Once Again, Michael Monroe Proves He's A Legend

Michael Monroe joined Slash on stage at the Helsinki Icehall a few days ago. When it comes to 80s Glam, there are few frontmen that still do it as good as Michael Monroe. Paired up with Slash here... well, it makes me wish those two would form a band together. Check out "Doctor Alibi" below.

Including yesterdays post (about Duff & Bach doing "Patience") really makes me yearn for some sort of band to form together ala Velvet Revolver that has either Michael Monroe or Sebastian Bach on vocals along with Duff, Slash & Adler (or Matt?).
Both Michael Monroe & Sebastian Bach are still (in 2015) delivering the goods (live & in the studio) & they really put to shame all the so called "Lead singers" of todays "rock bands" that don't have half the charisma or stage presence that these guys do on a bad day.
My guess is Monroe's happy doin' his thing, maybe getting over the whole supergroup thing as far back as 1992 with Steve Stevens and Jeruselem Slim, but that's a lot of speculation on my part.
However, the flip might be true when it comes to Slash and Bach. Slash is probably weary of hooking up with Bach because of all the bad PR about Bach making him gunshy based on his foray into hell with Weiland, as great as the music from Velvet Revolver is.
He'd rather do his thing with puppet Mild Kendolly than go out on a limb for something with a little more teeth, so to speak.

Funny thing, every time I see Monroe in an interview I get ready for that Troy McClure moment. He still looks great for his age. But when he smiles, he has crow's feet that stretch to the back of his neck!
And I think that Metalboy! is at least partially right: Slash and Monroe probably like captaining their own ships nowadays, setting their own agendas. Another Velvet Revolver? Please no. And that means I ain't pining for another Audioslave either. So many of these sorts of collaborations are of the "good on paper; meh in execution" variety.
