Help Anvil Fund Their New Album

Heavy metal band Anvil want to release a new album... and they are using PledgeMusic to fund the project. If you're interested, you can check out the link below. There are various levels of funding options - starting at $10 and up to several hundreds of dollars. The campaign has just over a month remaining.

I do wish these guys would take some responsibility for their own career. after 30 years, if you can't come up with the bare minimums of a ProTools rig on your own, without begging the world for money to make yet another album, maybe you shouldn't be making another album.

Sadly, agree Ace. I posted about this in March (I think). And nothing much has changed.

They have a place in metal. But that doc really was a double-edged sword when it comes to what people expect(ed) and what Anvil is capable of providing.

This band has some cool material. I never understood this though...I have recordings on a computer that didn't really cost anything to make. It's not the eighties anymore, you don't need to spend thousands of dollars producing a record. Just focus on writing kick ass songs with good quality.

I concur with all the posts here as well. We all know that being a metal band does not automatically make one rich but these guys have been around a long, long time. If your shows and albums are making enough to support the much lower costs of recording new material these days, then maybe that's a sign that there is not enough interest in your product.

HIM - I agree they definitely have a place in metal, influenced some huge bands of the early 80's and they have produced some decent output but, like the saying goes, "all good things....".

They need money to pay their bills(not make another album), and i for one, am not interested in donating. Maybe they should just give it up and get better jobs? This pledging $ stuff is bullshit.

I never EVER give money to these bands to help record or tour. Its just laughable and sad that they sink that low.

Yes! Happy birthday to our dear leader. You have made many of my days with your site. I hope your birthday is a great one.

Yes! A Belated and Very Metal Birthday, to YOU, Allyson, our FEARLESS Leader! Without you, there simply wouldn't be enough Metal in my life.

I sense that may be true for almost all others who gather here for the daily "Counsel For The Caldron" you make possible with your insightful posts, commentary and the forum you provide for one and all who come here to express their views which might otherwise have no outlet.

As for Anvil... I don't see a problem with them doing the crowd funding thing. If people wanna donate, let 'em donate.

Indeed, there are far better AND worse things to donate to but if it gets us another "Metal on Metal", it's worth a shot. If you watch the documentary, you'll see why they have to get a heling hand to make more Metal and why many a Metalhead might feel why Anvil might be the exception in a world of charity cases. It's really quite simple -- ANVIL are REAL Metal! \m/

Happy belated birthday Allyson!
Metalboy! I agree with you on the sense that if people want to donate, just let them. But I still don't understand the concept of an album in 2015 costing thousands of dollars to make. But then again, I can be very ignorant on the subject because I've never recorded properly or recorded anything album length. But anyways, if it does help make another Metal On Metal or Juggernaut Of Justice, then I'll just let the music do the talking!
