So Vince Neil Had LASIK Surgery...

Vince Neil recently had LASIK surgery. I know this because he made a testimonial for LASIK of Nevada and Blabbermouth shared it. Of course, "Looks That Kill" is playing during the testimonial. Now, this only interested me because I also had LASIK surgery. I had my eyes done six years ago and it was the best money I ever spent. Truly life changing. The dry eyes for months after sucks but that's the worst part of the entire ordeal.

Like Vince says, there's no pain but yes, your eyes are open the entire time. Through the power of science, you can actually watch your sight being restored. Truly amazing! So, I chuckled when I saw this on Blabbermouth but thought, heck, might as well share it too. So there you go. Vince Neil and I have something in common: we both had LASIK.

Vince would've been better served by any of the following:

Laparoscopic gastric banding - for weight loss
Anger Management Counseling - for a reoccurring character flaw of his.
Vocal lessons - self explanatory

or, He could have had a personality implanted.

I vote for personality - I laughed so hard ...Ace that was hilarious - maybe his anger management will be improved by the mandatory impulse control class he has to take when he pled guilty to misdemeanor battery earlier this month.... then there is that nasty civil suit still hanging over his head for that incident.

Ace - You win. Thank you. That is all.

Alison: My wife has been wanting LES for a while. I've worried about her getting it because my sister got it done and she said it was the worst experience she's ever had- and she survived breast cancer. Also, Comedian Kathy Griffen also had it done and she, too, tells horror stories and actually lost a lot of vision in her one eye. On the other hand, like you, we also know a lot of people who have had it done and say it was one of the best decisions they ever made.

In the end, it's my wife's decision...I just hope that if she goes through with it, it's painless and successful.

On another note, she and her friends are completing a bucket-lister in a few weeks- tandem-jumping out of an airplane. I think she is nuts and have told her so. I then told her, "then I'm going to act like nikki six and shoot up". I got her eye-roll.

I, of course, won't. I have 5 kids to think about and plus, I've have already had 2 strokes (due to my blood-clotting disorder). I think I've experienced near-death enough.

Ace! Hilarious as ever.

If only Vince had the capacity to listen to your advice. It could potentially add years to his life

p.s. Watch the video if you have the chance. It may be one of the most unintentionally funny infomercials I've ever seen!

Yep....for all of Vince's faults, of which there are plenty, all he did was take his talents from the clubs of Hollywood to the entire world. Along the way he played huge arena tours for years, sold millions of albums as well. Even made a pretty good solo album, away from his band.

He's a hothead for sure. He has been less than stellar vocally for awhile certainly. He has anger issues and addiction problems too. Certainly applies to a lot of stars albeit movie, rock or whatever.

Just seems like there is a lot of bile spit his way for so many people to have attended his concerts an/or purchased his albums.

and yeah, Vince has a pound or three to lose. Wonder if we turned the camera on the people here....who might that also be true of. I, for one, would be guilty of that. I'm WAY more are than aren't that post here are too.

Just get tired of that being something people bring up. The rockers we all love are in their 50's (or older) and thats just the way life goes unless you are genetically gifted like Dee Snider or Bret Michaels.

I mean its not like it applies to the rest of these guys bands. Even the KISS guys (Gene and Paul) are showing weight gain lately. Its not like these guys are all still wearing spandex.

I had lasik done about 10 years ago, and my wife 15 years ago. I couldn't agree more that it's the best money I've ever spent in my life. I had worn glasses since I was about 15 years old. I still have 20/20 vision now in my mid 40's.. However, my wife's eyesight has deteriorated to the point where she needs glasses again in the evening and while driving. She was a very early adopter though, even went to Canada to get it done because at that time it was a lot cheaper to get it done there. The technology has improved a ton since then.

Ace's comments made me laugh. Nice job.

You are in rare form, Ace. Had me chuckling. No, make that laughing, out loud.

I just had this vision of Neil, eagle-eyed, starring across the hordes of people at the buffet line, zooming in on that . . . one . . . perfect . . . fried . . . shrimp.

I get your point though, JAT. He comes in for some pretty harsh jabs (I am guilty here too, obviously). But he is a public figure who lives his life without seeming concern for who sees what he does when he does it. And, for that, he has to take some lumps. He is also a brand, and that carries with it an added dose of scrutiny. When you are out there hustling--strip clubs (closed), restaurants (should be closed), tattoo parlors (closed), booze (shouldn't cost so much)--you best hustle with your best foot forward, and not with it in your mouth. And I think he is a poster boy for the perception that celebs (even B- and C-listers) can get off light on crimes that would otherwise get you and me into a whole heck of a lot of trouble.

It is sad, too, that the death of his child--his damn child!--takes a back seat to some of these things, even if that can partially--and I say partially--explain some of his behavior. But does it sweep that behavior away? Nope. Just like having been in one of the greatest bands in the world doesn't, or shouldn't, give you a free pass to act like a drunk jerk with control issues.

Do I have more paunch now then back in the day? Yup. I ain't Bkallday. Less hair? Yup. Have I done stuff that makes me cringe now? Sure. Thing is, I am not a public figure. I didn't sign up for the spotlight. Neil did. And that glare can blind you to who you are and shield you from what you have become. I don't see any contradiction in loving the Crue and cringing at Neil. But I will give you at least one implication of your posts: you are feeding the beast when you support them. That's the bind of being a fan who votes with their wallet for some artists who think with their . . . well, you get my point.

Him: To take a stab at someone's behavior 20 years post burying a child is snapping to judgment based on media and perception. I would steer clear of that area because it's one of the most traumatic things a human can go through. - Peace

I am sorry, Kixchix. But you must have seriously misunderstood my post. Please go back and re-read it. Thankfully, this is our first real disagreement in several years.

I was empathizing with Neil there. Notice the way I set off the pain of losing a child by way of the dashes. And I was also acknowledging that that type of loss has some (not all) bearing on his behavior.

I rarely, if ever, "snap" to judgment as a consequence of the media (again, re-read my posts). But I do deal in my perceptions. As do you. I have nothing to steer clear of as re: what I wrote. So the warning misses its mark even if I think you are speaking from a place of pain.

And I sense, given the haste with which you advise me to act upon your reaction, that I hit a nerve that I never struck. So I will leave this be. All I ask is this: don't accuse me of acting in a way in which I did not. And, further, take me at my word: if I ever write in haste, or make a quick joke at the sake of real human pain, I will retract it and apologize quicker than most.

But, in this case, I didn't. I mocked Neil for his real failures . . . as a rock star, as a public figure, as a person. But I NEVER made his child's death an issue in my post, even if I acknowledged it as a factor in his behavior.

Be well, Kixchix. I hope we are square.

Wow, the ball fondling of this absolute nobody, is hilarious. Yeah, Vince really needs to learn from Ace. Will someone please tell me what band Ace is in, or has been in. Or at least tell me why he is so revered and worshipped, around here(oh, he was just around LA at the time? Nm). I can't wait for this. I'm sure MB, Ace's fan club pres, will inform me asap!

bk: I don't, nor have I ever revered ace. But, fortunately, unlike you, I don't consider success based on the acquisition of money (hence, donald trump can suck my c*ck, and then some). If your true measure of success is the DT's (or the vince neil's) of the world, you need some serious therapy. And, I mean...do not pass go, do not collect $200, just find a good therapist, you bloody fool!

oh, I forgot...and to you, gary: like norman bates w/o mommy issues.

Him: thanks for clarifying. I understand your point and your punctuation. Early in the morning I read and I react. As several years have gone by on BBG have no fear, all is cool. Very kind of you to take the time to explain what I misread. Thank you!

Appreciate the kind reply, Kixchix. Glad to hear we are back on track. Thanks.

Bkallday, why do you hurt me like this?!!? One minute we find a point of agreement; another we are off the rails again.

Ace has a wealth of information to impart re: the music we love on this site. He knows a lot of the people that made it to the top of the heap, as well as some who never quite got there and some who never were going to get there. And I think your play at taking him to task backfires (and you have tried it several times): Ace has never claimed to have made it. Point in fact, he is pretty candid about his career, his band, and his life . . . if you bother to ask or listen. That doesn't take anything away from what he contributes.

Do I agree with everything Ace says? Of course not. I still remember a time, early in my tenure on this fair site, when I was being a smart-ass about all of his "stories." Thing is, he took me to task and proved it. In the process, he has proven to be very reliable when it comes to the back-stories of some of the people we talk about here. Ace's contributions are a net-positive for a site like this. We are lucky to have him here. If you can't see that, that's on you. And I'd tell you to trust me. But I don't think that will pass muster with you. So be it.
