I See Stars, 'Calm Snow' -- New Video

My beloved I See Stars just released a video for their song "Calm Snow" a couple days ago. It's a legitimate, highly produced expensive video. "Calm Snow" is from the new album Treehouse, which is one of my go-to albums for when I'm working (headphones in, of course). Not Glam, but you can't listen to Hair Nation every day at work, right?!

I wish I could listen to Hair Nation at work everyday, Allyson!

Not my cup of tea. But I always like it when you share things that I haven't heard before. Never hurts to push beyond the margins of BBG! every now and again. And it is a well-produced video as well. I liked the visuals when she launches that arrow into Mr. Man Bun (I know, it isn't a _bun_ . . . but I wouldn't put that style past him). The only thing I found distracting was the "dandruff" sfx. It seemed to serve little purposes after a certain point.

Not sure I would ever check them out again. But don't feel like I lost anything giving them a spin. Many thanks.

Oh, man... Now THAT's comedy!

If only the video ended when she shot the dude with the arrow. However, he would make a helluva Glam Metal singer, that is, if that's his real voice.

It's not like someone punched your dog, is it? I mean, as Metalboy! notes, this guy could be a Glam singer if he wanted to be. But he doesn't. And that's fine. Right? I mean, right?

Hey, at least he isn't trying to re-earn his Man Card by doing a peacocking cover of some 60s band's ballad. And think about it: what if said cover was also augmented by a late-90s style video in the vein of Metallica, all somber and supposedly steeped in import?

Granted, I won't ever see stars. But I won't slag them for doing what they do for those who like it (though I do that all the time in other cases). Sorry to put my swizzle stick in some calm snow. But I like the patterns.

Yeah, yeah... I was also alluding to the fact that the guy's voice sounds like it has been processed, sped up and/or autotuned or all of the above...

... Not that he wouldn't sound cool like that in a Glam Metal / AOR / Melodic Hard Rock act but honestly, not as cool here, as their songs absolutely, S*CK!... Sorry, Allyson!
