'She Moves Me' - Jack Russell's Great White Releases New Song

Jack Russell's Great White has a new song out, called "She Moves Me." The song is from the upcoming album He Saw It Comin.' I'm happy for Jack that he's back to recording. He needs music and creativity in his life and I wish him and the rest of his band the best.

You all know, from recent posts, that I have a soft spot for Russell, in spite of his demons and how he has battled them. It is also obvious that I would take his version of GW, over the other version, live.

This song though? Hmm . . . it sounds tinny, processed. Perhaps live it would jump out at me more. Dunno though. It sorta' just shuffles along. In a way it reminds me of some of the slower numbers from DLR's solo career, but without the snap of the lyrics to give it something.

And that album cover?!!? Looks like something Grim Reaper would use. Which makes me laugh, because I don't think about Grim Reaper all that much these days.

Sounds like Jack is channeling his best Adam Levine Maroon 5 impression.

LOL Him. although, you'd probably be surprised at how solid the new Grim Reaper album is. The band is called Steve Grimmett's Grim Reaper now and, at nearly 60 years old, Grimmett still has pretty good pipes.

I'd read that they had a new album out, Bob. I will have to check it out. They were always a guilty pleasure sorta' band for me, with Grimmett fighting with Udo for most "radio-friendly" look in metal!

This isn't Great White. It isn't even Mediocre White.

It's bland white... sort of like elementary school paste... Bland, Boring & ultimately tasteless.

Him, not to beat a dead horse that I have beaten multiple times on this site in the past, but such is the beauty of my being blind. If Udo and Grimmett went out of their way to look stupid back in the day, I didn't know it, and it didn't affect my appreciation of their powerful voices.

Can't unhear the Adam Levine comparison...

I'm not sure what to think of this yet, and I'm having trouble getting too excited about the new album. And I'm a huge fan, collector, and follower of the band--perhaps outspokenly, possibly bordering on apologist. I'm particularly disappointed in the abysmal album title. Remember the brief whisperings recently that it was renamed "Stay the Course" over "The Gauntlet"? "Stay the Course" was by far the best of those pitiable contenders. I'm glad that the people involved are excited and proud (had a nice chat with Robby about it), and I'll definitely buy the album around the time it comes out, but I didn't leap to preorder it and I've only just now listened to this latest single. Hmm.

This one is not that great to me. But I really like the one that came out for streaming a month or so ago. I think it was called Blame it on the Night. Still love that Jack is making some new music.
