Kissin' Dynamite Release New Video

Kissin' Dynamite, a glam band from Germany, just released a video for the track “Hashtag Your Life” from their upcoming album Generation Goodbye. That album will be out July 8, 2016.

Good stuff. These guys are definitely carrying the flag for modern rock bands with a classic feel.

That was real good!

Very good message. Millennial morons won't listen. I even see my generation consumed with getting the perfect picture to "post" or "update" this or that on FB, to show their "friends" how great their life is. Narcissistic fools I say!!!!

Hear, hear, Kissin' Dynamite... AND Kixchix...

I found myself at a Memorial Day pool party surrounded by Millennials who were constantly checking their phones, taking and sending pictures, snap chatting, updating their facebooks, Instagrams and tweeting every five minutes.

Hell, I even wound up commenting on this site or the news a couple of times when I looked around at the people near me who had their faces buried in their phones.

That said, the party atmosphere eventually took over and where the phones did work out great was in an impromptu game of dueling DJs, which I won, naturally, with my 70's Rock Mix.

But back Kissin' Dynamite... Great song with a clever and humorous message delivered in a funny video - A clever twist juxtaposing 80's Style Glam Metal with such an au currant topic! It's almost as if to say, "Hello, 2016! It's the 80's calling to tell you how f*cked up you are!"

Hopefully, the kids, and everyone else, for that matter, get the message.

The song is just okay, but the lyrics really hit home. The irony of so-called social media is that it has made its most avid devotees less social. People will go out to dinner with friends, then spend the whole time on their phones rather than talking to each other. What's even worse is that the social media world is not reality. In the world of social media, if you dare to mention that your life is anything less than perfect every single moment of every day, people give you crap for it. a real life story...years ago, my Niece used to date a guy whom I never met because they live on the other side of the country, but we became friends on Facebook regardless. This kid would often post Facebook statuses about how he was sad about one thing or another. this was before FB had a dislike button. His statuses would get comments such as, "Unlike", or "Get over it", Etc. That kid was crying out for help on social media, and social media didn't come to his rescue. He ended up taking his own life. I fear that millennials who are slaves to social media won't have a real-life support system to turn to when they need help. One day, it'll be 30 years later, and they'll realize that life is not the non-stop party it used to be, and they won't know how to talk to people face-to-face about it.

Bob: excellent points. Your thoughts remind me of a song that I first heard in a biker bar (just outside of Allentown, PA) on karaoke night, by Zager and Evans:

In the year 2525

In the year 2525, if man is still alive
If woman can survive, they may find
In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today
In the year 4545
You ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you
In the year 5555
Your arms hangin' limp at your sides
Your legs got nothin' to do
Some machine's doin' that for you
In the year 6565
You won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube

In the year 7510
If God's a coming, He oughta make it by then
Maybe He'll look around Himself and say
Guess it's time for the judgment day
In the year 8510
God is gonna shake His mighty head
He'll either say I'm pleased where man has been
Or tear it down, and start again

In the year 9595
I'm kinda wonderin' if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing

Now it's been ten thousand years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what, he never knew, now man's reign is through
But through eternal night, the twinkling of starlight
So very far away, maybe it's only yesterday

Thanks for introducing me to something new, Allyson. Thought I initially balked at the word "hashtag," I am glad I got past my worries with a quick reference to the first few posts.

Excellent points, Bob and so sorry to hear about that kid. Your insights are so true regarding the malfunctioning of social media. What could be such a great thing is having it's REAL potential minimized by it's users.

The only thing we have a difference of opinion about here is the quality of the song. Where you hear it to be just okay, I'm putting it on my "Best of 2016" playlist and even go one further... It's the best song of 2016 I've heard so far this year!
