Kansas Readies New Album

So Kansas is about to release a new album. It will be their first new album in sixteen years. The album will be called The Prelude Implicit. I must say, I wasn't expecting new music from Kansas this year but I'm excited to hear what the band puts out.

Nice album cover, but if they aren't trying to top "Carry On My Wayward Son", why bother.

Still, I'll give it a listen, praying a sequel to "Dust In The Wind" does not appear on it, as that is one of THE worst songs ever recorded.

Not a big fan of this band. But I enjoyed their doc, Miracles Out of Nowhere. Interesting look at the band, even if it was a bit light on some of the juicier bits in their long career.

Metalboy!, I'm with ya sir about Dust in the Wind. I was a big Kansas fan in the 70s, and whenever I listened to the Point of Know return album, I would always pick the needle up and move it past DITW. I know it brought them tons of commercial success, but it also compromised their integrity. One thing about Kansas that has been forgotten over time is that, despite their progressive musical direction, they were a smokin' hot live band, especially from about about 1975 through 1978 when they got mega famous. seriously, they were loud, aggressive and tight as hell. I'll check out this new record to see what it sounds like.

Bob is correct about these guys live. I saw them in 1978 and they kicked major ass. Steve Walsh, besides being an incredible keyboard player and vocalist, is a performer. Guy was like a whirling dervish when not playing the keyboards.
