New Judas Priest Music!

We haven't talked about Judas Priest in a minute around here. The band will release a new album in March. That's several months from now, but you can listen to a sample of the song "Firepower" below. It's the title track to the new album. The production sounds great on this short teaser. I'm excited for the new album!

Love that JP are still active and relevant. Just not a huge proponent of balls to the wall speed metal like the 15 second clip illustrates. I adore Freewheel Burning and Painkiller. But those albums also had tunes with different tempo such as Love Bites and One Shot At Glory.

What separates the beast that is Priest is they’ve never stuck to a formula. Their intentions may not have always been artistic (Turbo. which was fun and their desire to fit into ‘86 glam domination). But JP have struck gold a number of times with albums with dramatic turns from previous releases. Point of Entry (classic) to Screaming For Vengeance (classic).

So in a nutshell, I want Rob to scream AND sing. I want wild guitars and driving rhythms. I eeant Priest! It’ll be 2018 it we are getting Priest. Pretty dang cool

So long as they keep Tipton away from the controls, things should be fine. Phil Spector, he is not (which is a good and bad thing, depending on the topic).

In other news, what is up with KK and his line of manly perfumes?

I predict: An Awesome Release, Priest (AARP)!

Scott Travis playing a beautiful blast beat on the double kick drums! Love it! It was his ability to do that kind of stuff that propelled Priest into the Painkiller era when they really dialed up the speed and heaviness. Ram It down was a step back toward that direction, but getting Travis behind the kit was the extra shot in the arm they needed. Can't wait to hear the rest of this.

I'm loving it!!! If this new album is anything like their last it'll be one of the best albums next year. It's so cool to see Priest still relevant and killing it live and with new music.

KC: my humble guess is that Rob went from twink to butch...but still rocks nevertheless! :]
