'Come On And Dance'

Happy Good Friday. Nikki Sixx was messing around on Facebook live and played "Come On And Dance" the other night. This is a rare track for him to play and very cool! Check it out.

At the very end of this Facebook Livestream, the interviewer tells Sixx a lot of people are commenting how much they love the song he just played a snippet of on guitar, "Come On And Dance".

Sixx says at the beginning of the livestream, he hadn't played it in years except for once earlier that week...

Huh-uh-lo-oh!!! Maybe he's just tone deaf from the decades he's spent on the road because weren't we all screaming for Crüe to play this AND the entire 1st album for years?!!!

DAYUM. Must be great to have the "disposable shekels" to be able to fill a room with vintage gear like that. Good for you Sixx 😎

Also, RIP Keni Richards,Autographs original drummer during their heyday. 60 is way too young to be headed for eternities house band. Saw those guys opening for VH in Philly from the 4th row (on the 1984 tour I believe?) and remember being blown away by Steve Lynch's guitar playing and thinking,"these guys are going places". Wasn't long after that Turn Up The Radio blew up and my "Ganga induced thoughts" about that band came to frustration. Lol.

A few thoughts. First, I was really hoping Sixx would play the absolutely bad ass guitar riff that starts out that song. Second, if you haven't heard the original version of that song that is on the Leathur Records release of TFFL, do check it out. It's pretty different from the Electra version. Third, I too saw Autograph open for Vh, but at the Meadowlands in NJ. I thought they were great. No more than a week ago, I was listening to a show they recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour in early 1985. I was struck not only by Lynch's guitar playing, but more so by how tight their vocal harmonies were. they harmonized with each other much better than most such bands back in the day. They really had the musical chops to go further than they did. Keni was a solid drummer. Not at all flashy, but a stirdy anchor for the rest of the boys to do their stuff. RIP.

Great song, wish they coulda put some deep cuts like this in their set more often. Although nothing can top Starry Eyes, beat song on Too Fast For Love, very underrated.
