Mr. Big Release New Song, '1992'

It might be 2017 for everyone else, but it's 1992 for Mr. Big. The band will release a new album Defying Gravity, due out July 7. Check out "1992" and let me know what you think.

Nothing special..and I think its 1992, not 1997..really doesnt matter, music sucked in the 90's

Yep, you're right, it's 1992. Can't believe I made that mistake, yikes! - Allyson

@Allyson. Show me a person that doesn't make mistakes and I'll in turn show you person that doesn't do a freaking thing 😉

Amen. there's an old saying among jazz musicians, "If you're not making mistakes, you're not trying hard enough." It's all good. In terms of the song, it's not bad I suppose. I like the musical complexity of the instrumental breaks. It harkens back to their early sound. I also like the very personal nature of the lyrics. It tells the story of their first three years pretty succinctly. Other than those two things, it's just okay.

OH, and one final positive note about the song. I really do like the warm, analog-sounding production. We need more of that in 2017. Thanks to ProTools, almost every band's songs sound the same from a production standpoint.
