Quiet Riot Debut 'Freak Flag'

For the first time, Quiet Riot performed their new song "Freak Flag" live. The song is from the album Road Rage, due out August 4.

You might recall I slagged Quiet Riot for adding yet another new vocalist in James Durbin, but to his credit he really does seem to fit the band. But here's the thing: he'd still sound good if they'd chosen a new name and moved on, but I digress. "Freak Flag" sounds good and fits in with newer Quiet Riot material. Video of the debut performance is below.

Like mentioned it's not QR, but in this day and age is QR. Just got to say I just don't like James Durbins voice. When he screams he sounds like a 12 year old girl. Have Rob Halford scream. That's a SCREAM!

I am so with Kixchix on this one. I know a lot of people dig Durbin, but I just don't get it. His voice has no grit, and I said as much in a comment I made to a BBG post of his first live gig with QR. He has the vocal range, but not the balls.

You need a proven voice to successfully keep Quiet Riot going.
Kevin Dubrow deserves at least that much.
If they had somebody like John Corabi or Sebastian Bach ( or somebody similar) than it would work but...

I'm (not) sorry but American Idol poseur James Durbin will never work.
Frankie needs to stop destroying any/all credibility Quiet Riot has left.
No young "American Idol" fan cares about Quiet Riot & no Quiet Riot fan cares about James Durbin.

Go big or go home!

P.S. [For The Record] I love Quiet Riot (especially the Randy Rhoads Years)!
