Hear A Sample Of New Dokken Music

Dokken's new release Return To The East Live (2016) is now available for pre-order via Frontiers. A bit of the new track "It’s Just Another Day” is available as part of the promo for this album. This is very exciting - and will be a great album!

This maybe sounds better (production / mastering), but holy shit is Don's voice ever toast.
Don't think I will pick this up for that reason alone.
As has been said elsewhere, this new song seems like it has an _Erase the Slate_ vibe. I think that is a good thing, as it plays to DD's soft-talking, slow singing, "style" these days.
As has also been said in other places, and is rightfully noted above, this "live" album is likely the result of a lot of hard work . . . by people other than the band! Difficult to square the sound here with the live videos of the actual performances themselves. But the overall sound, however it was created, is better.
I'm like you, Jeff. I remain a dedicated, if frustrated, Dokken fan for life. But Gary is right. What else do you expect when your version of healthy living involves booze, smokes, and nose candy? Glad the boys decided to play nice for once, and glad they got a bit of a payday out of it. But the "if onlys" and "could have beens" haunt these guys, DD most obviously.
[Sidebar: in other "live" news, people should check out Corabi's _Live 94 (One Night In Nashville_. There is an example of a guy who still has it vocally and otherwise, and presents the entire MC album in all its explosive and controversial glory! You won't be disappointed, and you won't have to make allowances for a singer way past him prime.]
In regards to Corabi, one of the most amazing shows I ever saw was put on by an adhoc one-off band that was slapped together on The Monsters of Rock Cruise a few years back called Cinderella & Friends when Tom Keifer had to cancel boarding the boat at the last moment due to a severe case of the flu.
Corabi fronted the act, acting as band leader and master of ceremonies, ushering different members of different bands to sing and play guitar on a series of excellent covers. He also sang a few numbers particularly the standout, “Alright Now” by Free.
After the show I ran into Corabi at the bar and I told him how incredible it was including his guitar solo on that song. He laughingly confidence fed in me that he in fact, and I quote “pulled it out of my a*s!”, having never played it before, and gave me a big fat kiss on the cheek, haha!!
Haha!! Gogmagog! I couldn’t bear listening to Geddy Lee hit EVERY note!
