Steve Perry Is Teasing... Something

Steve Perry of Journey fame went to all the major social media platforms Monday and posted the message below. His website says the same thing. Billboard reports this:
If Perry has music is in store, it would be his first new work since his 1994 album For the Love of Strange Medicine, and would come after his reunion with his former bandmates at their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was also announced in July that Perry will appear on CBS This Morning on Oct. 7.
Blabbermouth says Perry will release a new solo album called Traces on October 5. I guess we will know soon enough.

That first single, "No Erasin'," has the tell-tale Perry sound. Yes, a whole hell of a lot raspier than back in the day. A bit of strain. But, heck, it is Perry. And he seems to be aiming for that Journey-like stadium quality of yesteryear. Not a slam dunk. But not a dud either (if you like Perry or Schon Inc., which I do . . . when the former was in the latter!).
And I admire him talking about the loss that inspired him to get back in the game. It is clearly, and has been for awhile, a personal journey. Glad to have him back in the game. Would love to see him out on tour.
I didn't love his whole first solo album though. A few great songs, a few that were a bit mellow for my tastes.
But so glad he is back at it again. I will check this out for sure.
Tryin to erasing this from my mind
