Vixen Announce New Singer

I was waiting for this announcement. Vixen's new singer will be Lorraine Lewis of Femme Fatale. Lorraine filled in for Janet Gardner last year. This makes a lot of sense. I wish the new Vixen well.

With only so much talent to go around, the line-ups keep getting rechopped and reconfigured like some kind of bizarre hybrid Frankenstein Musical Chairs!
Though I’ve always been amused by 1 1/2 hit wonder, Lorraine Lewis and Femme Fatale, this ain’t exactly improving VIXEN’s stature in the Hair Metal pantheon.
I think they missed an opportunity to get a young bright talent to bring some new energy rather than having to watch Vixen Fatale!
Hair is 4 little girls, man up!
I think they had limited options and went with a known--to them and to some--quantity. I mean, we could draw up one of the usual 'wish lists' of singers they might have called upon.
But Metalboy! hits it on the button (and not because of the courteous shout out to you-know-who): the pool is getting smaller when it comes to replacements. Hence, all sots of odd pairings (think Ratt, Quiet Riot, and Great White) in recent years. There are no Hagar-for-Roth swaps really left these days. I mean, sure. Accept did pretty good by their addition. And the AXL/DC thing pleased a lot of people in a pinch. But drop farther down the list--in terms of recognition, nostalgia value, both, something else--and it gets worse.
I wonder if Dave Donato was available? I kid.
Whatever.
p.s. I will be posting you (and all Canadian Rockers) a love letter in the form of a list of “The Greatest Canadian Hard Rock Bands” in Comments a few posts back where you mentioned you were Canadian. I except you will set me straight about anyone I forget! Look for it Sunday! \m/XOX\m/

Nothing wrong with any title that keeps metal in focus. Hair Metal. Butt Rock. Glam. Whatever. I don't care. If new kids get turned on to the greats, I am all for it. This is an issue where I disagree with Trunk. Promote the music. Drop the worries. Get new fans. And, yes, support new bands.
