Happy Friday! Listen To Some Vinyl

I'm so glad it is Friday! It's been a very long week and I can't wait for 5 p.m. The Scorpions are doing it right, I swear. I've been listening to a lot of true classic rock this week and I found myself wishing I had a record player to hear some of the songs on vinyl. I have the records but my player is broken. The needle hitting the vinyl is a special sound and feeling - it just can't be replicated by streaming.

Oh how I wish I had kept everything...
Thinking of getting a unit and starting a collection for my son. Beatles, Police, Muddy Waters, Zep, VH, BB King, and of course a few Hair classics to relive High School ... Whitesnake, White Lion, Great White (that's a lotta white..) Winger, I remember how cool my Stryper album artwork and graphics were...Skid Row...of course Appetite.
What would you guys start a collection with?
I just bought the Cult's Sonic Temple box set and it sounds amazing. Same with AiC's Rainer Fog. I still mostly stream music nowadays (or listen to Sirius or Pandora). Like you Bkallday, I grew up on cassettes and CDs (bless RCA and Columbia House) . . . and still have close to 500 cassette (some of which only work on one side now!). But I also remember my parents playing records, and some of my older friends. Still have original pressings of Uriah Heep, Alice Cooper, and Zep, among others, that my uncle gave to me. Occasionally, it is nice to take a trip back in time. Right now, my favorite record to play is Jeff Beck's Flash. Yeah, I know, not his best. But some great stuff on that album. Second favorite right now is Andre Previn's take on Orff's Carmina Burana. Also not the best version. But a record I inherited and enjoy.
Have a good rest of your weekend everyone.
