New George Michael Music!

I was in a meeting yesterday when my phone pushed an alert from Amazon Music: New Song For You From George Michael.

I yelped!

"This Is How (We Want You To Get High)" is the first posthumous single released by the estate of George Michael. The song is on the soundtrack to the upcoming holiday romantic comedy, Last Christmas. Hearing this song makes me wonder how many other completed tracks George had in his vaults. I hope there are a few more treats in there. I miss George so much. One of my favorite artists of all time and still my favorite concert experience. This was a special gift during an otherwise gray day for me.

my first concert - TX stadium 1988. i went because the bangles were the opening act, and it was free (a buddy had an extra ticket). it turned out to be a great show. but for some reason i never got into his stuff beyond the “faith” album. i could never forgive the wham! years though.

Kind of looking forward to this movie. They're promoting the hell out of it, that's for sure.

Never big into him either, but certainly respect the talent and the ability to write a catchy pop song at that time.

To me, 80's pop hasn't aged that well and I don't listen to it much anymore ... except for Britney Spears obviously ;-) But others would say the same of my (and many on this site's) beloved hair metal genre, and that's fine too. Listen to what YOU like, right?

It wasn't until I was in my 30's that I really became a fan of George Michael and how talented he was. The Five Live disc is probably one of my favorites with the remake of Papa was a Rolling Stone. Sometimes shocks people in the OR when GM starts coming over the speakers. It really confuses people when I just put my phone on shuffle play...
