'Won't Get Fooled Again'

Enjoy this great cover of The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" by Van Halen. Sammy Hagar looks like he's having a great time here. This is obviously a vintage clip and one I've never seen before. Sure makes me wish we had a working version of Van Halen around these days. At least Sammy still tours.

Quite honestly, I never cared for VH's version of this song. Sammy's voice, while great, doesn't have that Daltrey snarl that really drives home Townshen'ds biting lyrics. and, as much as I do truly dig Mikey, John Entwistle he definitely is not. Vh performs the song competently of course, but it just sounds like they're going through the motions.

Nice, Crued. Thats a decent song off their newest album, but it wasnt as good as most of theirs have been. Big fan of Chevelle, though! "Wonder what's next" is still their best imho.

This song is on the live album "Live Right Here and Now", and I always enjoyed it though it's not one that I would say is very active on my playlist. Had not seen this studio version of it, nice find (like the Poison one!)

Yeah, Bob, you are right on ALL counts, though I would just say that Van Hagar going through the motions is not necessarily the case. Eddie, in particular could be misinterpreted as going through the motions simply because he makes it look so effortless.

True it ain’t The Who, but it’s STILL totally KILLER, nevertheless!
