Quiet Riot Performs Without Frankie Banali

For apparently just the third time ever, Quiet Riot has performed live without any founding members of the band. This wasn't a small gig either - it was at the Heavy Montreal Festival in Quebec, Canada. Johnny Kelly filled in for Banali on the drums. I have no idea why Frankie wasn't part of the lineup. He was posting on his Facebook page (see a funny post below the video from the show). If there are no original members, it's just a cover band at that point, right? Why or why not?

If you take Kevin Dubrow, Frankie Banali, Paul Shortino, Mark Huff, Keith St John, Scott Vokoun, Jizzy Pearl, Seann Nichols, James Durbin, Randy Rhoads, Greg Leon, Carlos Cavazo, Alex Grossi, Tracii Guns, Neil Citron, Billy Morris, Kelly Gami, Rudy Sarzo, Gary Van Dyke, Chuck Wright, Sean McNab, Kenny Hillery, Tony Frankly, Wayne Carver, Drew Forsyth, Pat Ashby, or Bobby Rondinelli out of Quiet Riot, is it still a band that can be called Quiet Riot ?
The classic line-up of Dubrow, Cavazo, Sarzo and Banali is the one I saw POINT BLANK at Network in Pasadena, MD, back in the day, the same one that made “Metal Health” the first Heavy Metal album to go #1, leading the way for many a Metal / Glam Metal band to follow suit or get into the Top 10, i.e. Guns n’ Roses, Poison, etc., etc.
The other versions of the band, aside from the line-up(s) with Rhoads in it, are scab bands.
Yet, I guess if you want to hear their great tunes live, it may be worth it to you to see this version, preferably with Banali, simply because Durban CAN sing and does a pretty good impression of Dubrow.
