I hope the kid got an A. Did anyone else teach their kids about awesome 80s metal bands by the time they reached fifth grade?

I must say though: I am glad I don't have your problem, Steverox. I am childless (by choice and so as to spare the world any more Hims). But I have great nephews and a host of friends who have children who call me uncle.
For some of them the gateway was _Rock of Ages_. I hated that movie. But it got them introduced to music that is good. Earlier on, it was playing _Rock Band_.
For others, it was being stuck in a car with me. My oldest nephew (he was ten at the time) was driving with me on vacation. A friend and I were playing a range of stuff: Ghost, Blue Oyster Cult (okay, not much of a range yet), Megadeth, etc. I looked in the rearview mirror and noticed him barely, almost imperceptibly, nodding his head and tapping his pointer finger on his knee. I said: "So, do you like this music." His reply: "Not bad uncle. Who is this?" Thus we started a nice journey, one that now involves one of his two brothers.
Said nephew is getting a nice pair of Ghost socks for the holidays. His dad? He scratched his head when he heard I introduced his son to Ghost and said, "the leader singer looks like Beetlejuice. Yikes." I still love my brother. But I really love the fact that my nephew can sing the lyrics to "Square Hammer" and really enjoys "Godzilla."
There is hope for the world yet!
Grammar is hard. Lmao
Yes, that was 'laugh my arse off' funny. Well done. Touche. I tried to zig, and you still want to zag. I bow to your prowess. Like you said, you finish what you start. Can't avoid a bow and a curtsy when the king brings it. Tim Miller Bass over at Blabbermouth would likely dip his quill in your ink given that sweet reply (no puns intended, as I am straining for some literary praise as I stand in the shadow of your prowess and vigor). To be fair, I think you are the Ferdinand de Saussure of this site, slaying simpletons such as myself while raising the flag for all that is good and decent about metal, rock, and whatnot. Simply put, I get a "D" for not providing one. You gave it. I earned it.
And, bye thu wey, I did agree with your recent post. So keep on keeping on. It is a good thing no one wants you banned from this site. Hope you are, well, well.
All the best to(o) the other posters, new and old, as well. I have been enjoying the interplay and the interactions. Still love this site.
And not even a nod to my nod about agreeing with you. Or even a response to anything of substance (wait . . . I didn't say anything of substance in those two posts, did I?). You really do have a plan. Have to respect your consistency. No hobgoblins here. But I do like me some Emerson . . . and Lake and Palmer too!
And I like the nickname 'lil buddy'. I'll take that and the trophy. It almost feels like we are two kids, texting each other. Feels comfortable and real. I am glad we are in a better place than when you wanted to fight me. You remember that? Seems like ages ago.
See? Friendships evolve over time. Now we can LOL and whatnot and not hate each other. The internet--and comment sections--can be vile, horrid, places. . . filled with a lot of people spending unnecessary time slagging on people they don't know. I know I have given in to that temptation on occasion. But I think we are showing people a better path. We are sharing ideas, thoughts, and opinions. Disagreeing when necessary. Critiquing when required. But still respecting each other and sharing our love of metal. We do it differently, granted. Just glad we are both healthy enough to do it at all. You never want to look back and feel like you wasted time doing something that proved a deficit to the marketplace of IDuhs (oops! spell check must not be working), no less to yourself or those who know and love you (and even those who don't, but still listen to what you have to say).
Love you like my anonymous brother from another mother, Bkallday. Really do. All my best to you.
