Speaking of the lead singer, Justin Hawkins, I know that he is the reason people are generally either for or against the band. Which is a shame, as the other players are always good. Does he lean on those high vocals a lot? Yes. I mean, alot!?!? YES!!!! It is his thing. Not for everyone. And I will extend an olive branch to the haters by noting that I like a lot of the songs where he saves those high notes, using them sparingly.
Still haven't seen them live. Hope to do so. But not sure I would spend money on this, even if the band seems to have a great sense of humor and perspective, esp. after they squandered their early success and are now clawing back some recognition.
Love ALL their albums, even the crappier ones ... Clever as h*ll and TOTALLY ROCK!!!
Count me in for December 18th!
