An Interesting Fact I Did Not Know

Today, Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones turns 77. I had no idea that he wrote some of "Satisfaction" while sleeping. I read Jagger Unauthorized when I was probably 16 so that was a million years ago. Perhaps the creation of the song was in the book but I don't remember much about it. I thought this was pretty cool and worthy of a share. Happy Friday. This has been a really long week for me.

Arguably the greatest rock and roll song of all time. The guitar tone on the main riff is so memorable. If you want to enjoy a gloriously over-the-top, sped up, extended version, check out the Flashpoint live album. They add a two minute arrangement with backup singers, horns, improv lyrics, and guitar soloing and I love it.

Thanks, Basileus ... I’ll check it out ...

And there’s also DEVO’s version, which Keith Richards (sometimes Richard) once proclaimed is THE BEST cover of the song.

One of the best uses of a Rock song in a movie would have to be in “Apocalypse Now”, which also happens to be one of my Top 5 Favorite Movies of All Time!
