Sonic Temple Festival, Welcome To Rockville, Epicenter Canceled

More Covid-19 cancellations... these shows were set for May. Keep an eye on M3 Rockfest and Rocklahoma. I don't see how either of these go on at this point. Looks like ticket refunds will be issued automatically for Sonic Temple and Rockville. There are some other options too if you are a ticket holder. Read below.

Sigh. Disappointed, but it was obvious it was going to happen. There is no way this is over in May, and frankly, packing 40,000 sweaty metalheads in close confines is just stupid.

Quite frankly, other than Victoria Secret models, there’s not a species on Earth I’d wanna have 40,000 of packed around me. 8-)

@Gary I love you man! --- I was selected to the coveted presidents club at work this year -- all expense trip to Grand Cayman with a few meetings thrown in for good measure -- I am waiting for the cancellation - It was in June --still no news as the company scrambles to figure out what to do..So far all merit increases cancelled - No international travel and they cancelled the stock buy program. I consider myself very lucky to be still working.

No layoffs yet but......

@ Shawn Oldest daughter was to get married in Jamaica on May 1st. She Planned it 1 1/2 years ago. Had to postpone it this week and now wait to reschedule it. What are ya gonna do I guess, right? Maybe it’ll give me some incentive to drop about 40lbs in the meantime, so I don’t get harpooned by a Japanese fishing trawler floating by off the coast of Sandals in Ocho Rios.. 8-). Stay safe brother

Wow, hadn't seen this ... Louder than Life will be 4 days AND Metallica is back on the schedule???

I think there's going to be A LOT of roadtrippers to Louisville later this year if we're all "back to normal" and all that. This will be huge if so.

Count me in.

Shawn and Gary, so sorry to hear those stories. They are far too common nowadays though. Next to my loss of the DLR in Vegas show and my trips to Japan and NorCal, both of yours (esp. the wedding!) seem a touch more significant. I bet there are plenty of readers here who are dealing with this sorta' stuff.

Steverox, I am with you on that! I hope the fall brings a load of great shows to choose from and a country (no less a planet) that is on the upswing. Again, I hope. There are a lot of people with lives that are truly damaged right now, for different reasons. It would be nice if music could hold us together.

Gary, let me try this one out: how about 40,000 of your closest friends? I await your witty answer.

@Him Either They’d all have to be mute, or I’d have to figure out how to clone 2 people 20,000 times apiece. “Social distancing, helping me through life since 1978”. Lol

I hear you, Gary!

When I was a touch (okay, a lot) younger, I found the madness of Ozzfest at Devore amazing, if slightly unsettling. Increasingly, I want to be able to spread out and enjoy the show . . . in my space . . . with my friends. Granted. I meet some great people. But my point remains.

And your point does too. At this point, with so many unknowns, the idea of standing around with a bunch of people who have questionable hygiene is not a trip I want to take. That said, I do look forward to a time when I can enjoy some shows with friends. I am sure all of us do.

Funny Gary! Once again, you have proven beyond the shadow of a doubt, YOU are THE funniest dude on here (Sorry, Boyz!) though there are a few close seconds and you know who you are!

Needless to say, I won’t include myself, either as I am well aware I’m the least humorous of all!
