Whitesnake Postpones Japanese Tour

I figure we will start seeing more alerts like this one: Whitesnake has postponed its Japanese tour due to Covid-19. We have seen a few other cancellations here and there, but now things seem to be progressing at a more rapid pace. Covid-19 likes close contact so concerts could be dangerous in places where there is a pocket of outbreak. As always, keep your wits about you. Wash your hands, don't shake hands, don't touch your face. It will be interesting if we start seeing big concert cancellations in the U.S.

Never would say this normally: but Mike Portnoy's explanation made sense (when Sons of Apollo announced their cancellation too). Generally, good ole Mike strikes me as a fellow who might be too heavily invested in beard wax stocks and futures. But, this time, he pointed out the logistical/financial nightmare that all of this is causing for bands . . . given that real and imagined threats cause _real_ problems for a touring band and those for whom they are responsible.
As the saying goes, Timor mortis conturbat me. Not the thing itself, but the fear surrounding it. And that can spread like a virus too. So I still think Allyson was right to argue for sanity and caution while all of this sorts itself out. And, hopefully, it does so without unnecessary panic and unnecessary deaths.
