High-end design house Balenciaga has teamed up with Rammstein for a merch line. I mean, if you need a thousand dollar hoodie, this is the one to get. I am baffled that Rammstein of all bands is going designer with merch, but whatever. Nothing makes sense anymore!

Selling to the super-rich is like shooting fish in a barrel.

A relative of mine used to make gorgeous wooden bowls through a process called wood-turning and he sold them at the gift shops of a few ski/golf resorts close to where he lived. They sold here and there, but nothing crazy until a friend of his suggested that he jack the price up by 20 or 30x. So instead of selling a bowl for $50, he started selling the same thing for $1000 or more and they began moving like crazy. The ridiculous price tag became a feature of the product.

All that is to say that the free market can be really weird, and I can guarantee that they will sell plenty of $1,000 hoodies to people who have more money than brains.

Also, I'm clearly in the wrong business and should be selling hoodies for $1,000. Or better yet, create digital images of hoodies and sell them as NFTs for thousands more.

And, Bryon, you brought up the single best recent example of civilization's decline: NFTs. Then again, I am making close to 100K a month having people pay to watch me play Dr. Mario. I kid, of course. But that is another one of the horsemen of the apocalypse. And I am so thankful no one has looted my Grocery Outlet store in Second Life!
