Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2021 Inductees Announced

The list of inductees to the newest class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was announced this morning. Late guitarist Randy Rhoads will receive a special award, too. Foo Fighters and Carole King made it in as I expected, as did Jay-Z. Iron Maiden still did not make it. Their absence in the Hall is ridiculous at this point. Thoughts?

Maiden has sold over 100 million albums. They were a huge part of the NWOBHM, which brought shit tons of fans worldwide into the headbangers fold. They continue to sell out stadiums worldwide. Therefore, I could certainly see how the f@cking Go-Go’s deserve to go in more than they do... 😂😂

All worthy candidates, but only a couple more mighty than what is the beast that is Iron Maiden. Must be waiting for a year to end in "6" for the Number of the Beast.

Todd Rundgren raised Liv Tyler as his own, at his own expense because that was the right thing to do. That, alone, gets him in.

Grohl is now a 2x HOF member and Maiden is not in..... The RRHOF has been and continues to be nothing but a farce and should be treated as such by the fans and the media until they wake up.

I love the Foo & Dave but they are at their peek. In 10 years, there will be no rock band worthy of being put it the Hall. I believe Green Day is already in, GnR too. Both bands are very active and relatively young by comparison to other worthy bands. We all know the Hall is ridiculous, but by a business stand point I think its very short sighted. I'm already concerned with the number of bands that will be able to tour arenas and sheds in 10 - 15 years. Think about it. NOT MANY. I could go down the list of who won't be around, but I won't. Just think about it. At least the Go Go's are dead as a band so I don't really mind them getting in. In fact, they should be in more than the Foo rather than Maiden. As a side note, I think its ridiculous that Blaze Baily wasn't going to be included but Dennis Stratton was.

Also, TWO rap artists!? TWO!? Really? I understand them both getting in but not at the same time and once again, both are fairly young. What's the rush?

And in other news that really should be discussed . . .

I'm waiting.

If, as I do, you bag on the other self-congratulatory and utterly out of fashion awards shows, I hope you are bagging on this as well. In an era where I find myself a bit 'off to the side' of things, worrying about who is in and who is out at the RaRHoF is about as interesting as, well, Maiden's last album (and I am a diehard fan).
