Night Ranger, 'Breakout' -- New Video

Night Ranger has a new video for the song "Breakout" -- from the upcoming album ATBPO. The new album comes out in August via Frontiers. I have to say, this is a surprisingly strong track. Top notch music.

Solid. Steady. Dependable. That means it is the Dawn Patrol.

But what do I detect? Was that Iron Maiden doing the intro? And what do I wish? Someone pulled the plug on those keyboards on occasion.

Still, good stuff. Good band, making music, updating their sound to account for having some teenagers they found playing stick ball in their band (while listening to ELP?!?!). Again, I kid. Night Ranger is a solid band. Nice to have them around.

Geeezus! ... It only took ‘em 42 years but they finally put out the best song they ever recorded! ... This is TOTALLY killer! ... Who the h*ll ever thought they had it in ‘em?! ... Astonishing!

Addendum: Yeah, I know, “Sister Christian” ... but had that not been immortalized in “Boogie Nights”, we would only be taking that song half as seriously, and equally so, the ultimate mediocre brain rester, “(You Can Still) Rock In America”, or whatever the h*ll it’s called ...

And get a load of that sleazed out (and I mean that in a good way) guitarist who looks like he escaped from Faster Pussycat or L.A. Guns or some sh*t! ... Who the h*ll is that?

Metalboy!, what is your take on "When You Close Your Eyes"? I really enjoy that song. I think it showcases their strengths as a band. Either way, nice to hear you give them a nod. And, again (retrospectively, as I mentioned this in the newest post), nice to have you back!

I really like this song!

But to me, the best Nightranger song is "Don't tell me you love me". I don't know why, but that solo for some reason is in my top 5 or so best solo's of the genre. It's just so melodic and smooth, and of course the whammy bar!

This band is severely underrated ... they've been bringing it forever.

Steverox, that is another solid song. The band has so many of them, really. And I agree, they are underrated.

I also have a soft spot for Gillis and what he did on Speak of the Devil. He stepped into one odd situation and handled it like a pro!
