News Of The Week Roundup: Week 18, 2021

Happy Mother's Day! I spent the day with my mom (and dad!) and Eric did the same with his parents. It was good to see our parents and eat inside a restaurant like the beforetimes - thank goodness for those COVID vaccines!

Some other folks finally got to see their mothers after a very long time.

Speaking of COVID... researchers are working on a fascinating study using Digital Twins to review long haul effects of the disease.

Donald Trump tried to circumvent his Twitter ban and was immediately rebuffed. Facebook upheld its Trump ban as well.

A birthday party in Colorado turned deadly today when another nut opened fired, killing six people. The gunman killed himself too. Disgusting.

Bill and Melinda Gates are divorcing. The news sort of shocked and saddened me. They've been married so long. Now, this news which is something. Woo boy.

And I leave you with this sad news: Skid Row frontman Johnny Solinger has liver failure. This post is sad on so many levels, including an indictment on the American healthcare system.

Well, almost none of that was good news! But I am glad a mom and her child were able to reunite.

Heard about Johnny yesterday. Sad news. Boy oh boy, though, the knuckle-dragging keyboard warriors are out in full attack mode questioning his lifestyle, etc., etc. Regardless the cause, it is sad news. Never really liked much of SR sans-Bach, but the guy did a decent run with the band. Bummer he has to go hat-in-hand at a time like this.

I guess Mr. Gates can now spend even more time with his ex-girlfriend! Guy is a nerdy genius. But he and his soon-to-be-ex have done a lot of good in this world. Kudos to them. Hope they can keep things amicable. Seems like that is the plan.

Finally, I think I am going to sue. "Digital Twins" is the name of my recently release book of tone-poems. By 'recently released', I mean that a strong gust of wind blew all of my poems hither and yawn (I know it is spelled differently, but that is the reaction I got from my critics/camping mates) after I opened my tent flap to see if there were any people stealing my pallets/firewood.

Enjoy your week everyone!
