The Best Guitar Solos Of All Time: Number 11

Rolling into our countdown of the best rock guitar solos... today we are at number 11.

"No More Tears" is probably my favorite Ozzy Osbourne track. The song always gets me going - I love listening to it while driving or while working out. Guitarist Zakk Wylde contributed to the legendary solo. It is the best part of the track. The song is on the album of the same name, released in 1991.

"No More Tears" was written by Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Mike Inez, Randy Castillo and John Purdell. Enjoy some of Wylde's best work below.

nothing against this song or album, i just think it’s a shame “no rest for the wicked” is always overlooked in ozzy’s catalog.

If I had not lived through the transformation, there is no effing way I would ever believe the kid playing guitar in that video is Zakk Wylde.

I love this song and Zakk delivers a tremendous solo, but it has to be the full-length album cut.

It gets bastardized with the radio single, because the building intro of the solo is edited out.

Bob Daisley played bass on this song. Mike played on the tour and was in the video.
killer riff.....

Yes, David, Daisley played it. But, as has been mentioned before (and by Daisley), Mike wrote it. So that is a great combo.

And I think that the bass stands heads and shoulders (why am I itching?) above the solo. Thing is, in Ozzy's catalog, there are a lot of better solos. Perhaps some will show up in this list.

Gogmagog, Zakk's transformation is kinda' amazing. From the farm-boy with the long hair (I know, he is a NJ kid . . . but those early photos make him look like somebody kidnapped him from a cornfield in Nebraska and put a wig on him!!!) to the faux-biker with the leather. I enjoy the theater of BLS (they put on a good show). I also understand and don't care (as a non-musician) about the people who constantly moan about his 'pinch harmonics' (to be fair, once it is pointed out, you can't _not_ hear it!). But I really like what he did on the second (and the first) Book of Shadows album. Entirely nostalgic, clearly respectful, and a nice chance to hear him not doing what he is most well-known for doing.
